I know the moisture is good especially as dry as you've had it, but I'll bet you are weary of fighting the snow. Those snows are always better in March/April, when the will go off in a few days, but this will hang on all winter. Looks like you are equipped to handle it, and are doing so nicely.

You need to send Jill to Wyoming for a little pre-calving break  . She'd probably appreciate seeing the ground again. I'll bet she's staying nice and clean though!

Here's a picture of me during our 2006/07 winter... I can feel your pain, but hopefully you'll be rewarded with fantastic grass :D .

WOW Reminds me why I moved from Wyoming to Missouri 43 degrees this afternoon took soil samples today. My last year at UW we had 120 inches of snow that year and i bought the last piece of meat and last loaf of bread at Safeways durning Thankgiving break that year.

Holy cow WyomingRancher...that is a dandy drift!!! I've got a picture of us sitting on the barn roof in 2004...we could do it now too...but it's mostly from snow coming off the barn roof. Jill quite likes the snow, even if she did look pathetic in the one picture. She and Cotton are sleeping soundly right now though

The white one is Cotton, Mikes male dog. And he could use shades, his eyes bother him in the summer. That is why I made sure Jill had black around both eyes.

Maybe a black paint stick and you could draw circles around his eyes. Look like that dog from the movies. :)

Hopefully Mother Nature doesn't get a bee in her bonnet to dump that much snow here this year.

06/07 winter we had 5 feet of settled snow by the time it started melting.
Two of my lease meadows (about 800 bales worth) stayed under water all summer. Glad we carry crop insurance.

Your cattle are doing well. Thanks for the visit. :D

OMGsh...how long did it take for that drift to go away???

Bulls look like they're in good condition. Good pics. What sort of temperatures are you averaging there?

Luckily I had the feed tractor parked at my house, so we used it to bucket the snow away :D . This is what happens when you have three feet of snow on the ground and 70mph winds :? . The interesting part was that the ground was so dry, the drifts just sank into the ground... we didn't get any run-off that spring  .

yall ever had problems draggin that trailer (loaded) thru the snow? Couldn't see if it was tracking in the tractor cuts or not.......

It goes in the tractor tracks, it'll push snow with tool box sometime. Yesterday was 39 when I got up, got up to 53  So the snow is about half what it was. It froze last night though so there is ice everywhere.
