Man, I have had some good pimento cheese sandwiches. The pimentos are as big as baseballs in the garden. Anyone else like them? Got a favorite recipe? I think my little hottie wife just grills the pimentos then mixes them into a cheddar cheese with mayo spread. We also have Habanaro, Serrano, Cayenne, Jalapeno, Ancho, Tabasco, and another variety or two I think. I'm a pepper fan.

You guys can grow alot of things we can't because of our short summers. greg and I love peppers too but don't get many fresh like you do. Pimentos I thought were the annoying little things you picked out of a olive.

Had some little hot but sweet peppers a neighbor gave me the other night.

Go good with my peas and cornbread. Sorta made me sad that I didn't plant any this year.

I'm a Jalapeno eating fool.

Once I was a fool eating a Habanero.

Mrs Greg I guess pimentos are what they stuff olives with or at least thats
what they say. Pimentos are darker though than those but the vinegar might make them lighter. They are a pretty bland pepper but have a good taste when grilled and peeled.

Mike I like the serrano and tabasco best of all. Habanaro is hotter maybe (a little) but they don't taste very good. They taste kind of rotted to me. They make a GREAT crushed red pepper though. It'll run everyone out of the house when you grind them in the chopper though after they dry. Feels like tear gas.

Never had the serrano's. I like the tabasco's tho.

The habaneros I raised one year had very little taste at all.

They were all heat. Tasted like they had been struck by lightning.c

The olds folks used to say that hot peppers will make your sticker peck out?

Yep, pimentos in Olives are just slices of pimento put in there.. WE grew a ot of peppers last year, Hungarians, Cayeene, Serrano, Jalepeno's and of course aobut a dozen or so Bell peppers. Have done Habenero's but not to much. We scaled down the garden this year because the guy who works for me didn't want to mess with it.. Now he his complaiing he doesn't have al those peppers to bring home for his salsas...

We used tot ake jack cheese, and slice jalepeno's into it real thin (Or get soeme sort of jared one) and than put it on bread and make grilled cheeses out of them.. Always loved those.

We make our own Pimento Cheese too....only we use about 1 1/2 lbs of cheddar cheese, and a lb of american cheese grated together, then add the pimentos.....miracle whip.....and wah lah yummmmmmyyyyy.

that store bought stuff....you won't ever buy again once ya make yer own.

As for peppers.....gimme a good ole jalapeno any day. We've tried the Habenaro's too.....they are HOT...but also have a wierd after taste that we didnt like. We also grow bird eye peppers. Them's some hot lil beggers for sure.

Homemade is better and you use your favorite cheese. I like to crumble up some bacon into mine gives it a different flavor.
Hmmmmm grilled pimento cheese sandwich sounds good for breakfast.

I am growing some Jalapenos and some sweet Hungarian banana peppers this year. One year I grew some kind of prolific chilli that I made jelly out of and it was too hot to eat. In fact I burned my fingers just handling them. Then the fumes from boiling the mash stung my eyes. It was a lot of work for not eating any of it.
Anyone have a favorite hot sauce? Mine is Franks Red Hot. Its mild but has loads of flavour, and I pour it on thick.
