I think Mr. FH has been watching too much television.
Here is his winter project, finally complete. He was on his
way to Tom Wagoners with a couple horses and since everything
was hooked up, I took a couple pictures.

Someone gave him the stacks for doing a good deed.
(Actually, he has always liked fixing up his pickups.
The only difference between a man and a boy is the price of his toys. :P

If I had a prom to attend, I would ask to borrow that baby!!!

how much room in the back seat??

I enjoyed your responses immensely.

How much room in the backseat, jigs? I don't know,
I never ride there. But you did make me giggle.

Horns katrina? I'll suggest it!

The brush guard, it is an Aliarc and no, he didn't make
it. Took him almost a year to decide on one and he chose
this one. It's aluminum and very light but he likes the
way it is built and attaches to the front of the pickup.
So many are just for looks and won't do much if you should
hit a deer. This one will hold up and protect the front of
the pickup.

Do the stacks work? Oh, my yesssssssssss. He wouldn't have it
any other way. :P

Soapweed, you made me giggle too.

Denny, I bet you can get those signs. They really don't amount
to all that much, but they look nice on the aluminum trailer.
We had one on for a year before he got the other one put on.
Didn't bother him much as he said, "well, you can only see one side
at a time."

Thanks for your nice comments everyone. If he knew I posted the
pictures here, my life wouldn't be worth much.

I've got one of those signs just have'nt put it up yet.Around here you put a sign up they charge commercial taxes on your property so I dont even have a Trailer shop sign up and it keeps the sunday lookers away.

I don't want a Vigortone sign, although they look real nice but I want a free hat, lol.. Come on.. Or a t-shirt...lol.. I need to put my order in again... Amazing how fast we go through the stuff..

Nice looking truck.. Bet it gets a lot of miles on trucking that mineral all over the countryside.

Come on! :o My neighbor just finished his new truck the same way minus the brushguard and the trailer! Same color and all. He doesn't need the brushguard....he raises hogs! For him, I'n not sure how practical that all is. Anyway, yours is a nice looking rig! 8)

Some of the grain farmers around here have the nicest trucks for hauling livestock    Than you see the livestock guys driving the 95 diesel with 300k miles on it, the mirrors ductaped on and a different colored door hauling the old steel goosneck down the road with weld marks all over it.. Our set up is actually pretty nice with a 24 foot alum trailer and a dually crew cab that is just a bit over a year old but our set up before that more closely resembled the previous descrption excpet it was/is a gasser with a bumper pull.. Not very effiecient at getting cattle to market but at least it gets bad milege

The first horse trailer we bought didn't have tires. Bought the
trailer, then soon as we could afford it, we bought some used
tires. That trailer was a Turnbow with a fiberglass top. Man,
we thought that little trailer was really something.

We've been there, done that. I guess at 62, I'm happy
Mr. FH is still interested in carting mineral all over the country.
He uses this trailer because he loads and unloads the mineral
with a cart and a ramp. Doesn't hardly have to lift a bag.
5 ton drops or more, the semis deliver, but less than that
Mr. FH does it. That trailer has a lot of miles on it and the
pickup seldom goes anywhere without pulling a trailer of some
sort.

Does it make sense to have a pickup like this? Probably not...
but I'm so happy he enjoys it. You never know what tomorrow
will bring. Got to live for today, within reason.

The "brushguard" or grille guard can sure save scrunching up a vehicle from hitting a deer. Three times through the years, I've broad-sided a deer. Because of the grille guard, the pickup didn't get a scratch any of those times, and the deer died a quick merciful death. I wouldn't have a vehicle that didn't have one in place. Even on our son's Chevy Blazer there is a grille guard.

That is a mighty fine rig and sounds like it is just the ticket for the jobs that he needs it for. A rig like that would be a dream come true for anyone. I am sure that some may question the need for such a nice rig but why not it is his office and life is to short not to have a few nice things to make it fun... 8) Up until a few yrs ago we just hired someone to do our hauling as most of our pastures are close enough that we can just open gates and run the cows from one to the next. I ran on to a deal on a 97 7x24 Diamond D that a feller down the road had and a wind storm laid over on it's side in his yard. It was a bid deal and for luck I got the bid and with a couple hours of pushing the back gate opening back square and a little welding it was back to what most trailers that are 1997 vintage look like and have used it ever since. Always thought I would like to update to a newer one but it really is hard to justify a newer or new one and only use it 5-6 times a year. I'll tell ya what though if he ever gets tired of it tell him to drop it off and I will store it for him

Everything we own has a grill guard... I have smacked 3 deer in the last year and the grill guard made it so that there was not one scratch or headligh out.. It's a nessacery part of our vehicles.... My husband is enviouse of those stacks fh.... Love it.....

O my, stack envy... I hear it can get really serious 8) All your going to hear about is the length and width. Katrina I feel your pain
