Hello , everyone!

I am a marketing major graduate student of University of Texas at Dallas and I am doing a project with my group in our New Product course. We are planning a new product in the agriculture which is managing the cattle. One of our steps is to construct a survey of our new thing. We just want the professional person like you to help us to finish the survey. We will treat your answers as the best sources which our group is gonna consider in our future steps. Thank you very much!

here is the survey link:https://utdallas.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_01hwM1rBB08Hwb3

Have a nice day!

Best Regards,
Leo Chen

I would be considered a very old and uneducated man in your eyes. However, the way you have written this request annoys me. I do not have even one quarter of your expensive and high class education.

There may be some here who will not like what I am about to state. It is imperative that when you deal with the public - and especially at your level - your grammar is correct.

To cheapen the language is to show (at least to me) that your efforts may be misrepresented once the "study" is completed.

Please go back and correct the mistakes. It makes you look like a trifler when you do not maintain or present professional writing skills in a situation like this.

I will post this on "the other site" as well.

My best

This says quite a bit about the authentic quality of the survey.

The number of cattle and calves in your farm:

Below 10,000 heads

10,001 ~ 20,000 heads

20,001 ~ 30,000 heads

30,001 ~ 40,000 heads

40,001 ~ 50,000 heads

Over 50,000 heads

Yeah, especially since the average cowherd size in the USA in less than 50 head.

Everything is bigger in Texas !

OT, maybe, maybe not! Memory isn't serving me well today, but it seems I've heard average herd size in TX is either around 35, or 50 head.

I know several states are pretty close to same number, and states with larger people populations often have smaller cattle populations.

Often people will be quite surprised when asked in groups which states have the most cattle. TX often is rated higher than the reality.

It appears that either the person writing about this survey is lacking in English language mastery for whatever reason. That does make it more difficult to take the project seriously.

Total cattle inventory and then last years and the percentage increase or decrease. It didn't format.

Seriously?!?!? There is not one "thing" in your post that indicates that you should have received a passing mark out of grade school!

The averages I am wondering about is the average number of cows per farm/ranch in the various states. It has been some time since I've seen those numbers. I do remember it was considerably smaller than seems possible, but suppose that includes those one or two cow 'herds' and there are more of those than one would guess.

The original post here was just sarcsm anyway, Wasn't it? It does suggest what we believe to be the mentality of the OWS people. If this guy is for real, maybe he will find a job in marketing, Perhaps he could become a community organizer.

I have been lurking too long and found this thread interesting. According to the USDA in 2012 "The average beef cow herd is 40 head, but operations with 100 or more beef cows compose 9 percent of all beef operations and 51 percent of the beef cow inventory. Operations with 40 or fewer head are largely part of multi-enterprises, or are supplemental to off-farm employment."
Though this doesn't specifcally respond to mrj about the per state herd size it does seem to be markedly smaller that the 10,000-50,000 head noted in the survey.
I really enjoy reading each of your posts.

Welcome DB Cooper! I supposed we'd never hear from you againg after that parachuting deal
