These are pictures of the explosion from the train derailment
yesterday west of Plevna, Mt--about 8 miles from us. The story is at www.billingsgazette.com
Yesterday was last week as it took me a while to get them loaded.
But here they are, scary deal.

Thanks, BMR. I just have no luck trying to get pictures here from an email.
There were 15 cars that derailed, 4 of them exploded. They were carrying some kind of fuel additive so while flammable, it wasn't anything deadly.
A friend took these pictures, as we had our own fire to fight (not near as
big as this one) which burned up about 140 bales of Darin's (the young
fella we lease to) and the paper said about 210 acres in all. It delayed some
of the firemen from getting to the train fire, but we are so thankful they
stopped. This all happened a week ago, on Sunday afternoon. No idea yet
why the train derailed. Some of the local firefighers said the engineer went
to sleep and missed the curve. :P
Also the same Sunday, a mountain lion got into some people's house in town
and was in that house for about an hour. That's in the same issue
of the Billings Gazette too. I don't have any pictures. It was a young
male about 1 1/2 years old and it's really quite a story!! No one had
a tranquilizer gun and they had to wait that long to get one from the
veterinarian--and then it didn't work!! They did get him outside and
chased him a couple of blocks before they shot him. I kinda felt bad, cuz
he was young and dumb and at the wrong place at the wrong time, BUT
he could have hurt someone. The people whose house he crashed through
their glass door, had a little bitty dog and she barked and barked at
the lion when it was in the house and the lady said she thought "you're
gonna be lunch" and she stepped forward and picked up the dog. She
said the lion acted more bewildered than aggressive and she felt safe
in doing so.

All in all, quite a Sunday in a pretty sleepy town/county.

I wanted to share the pictures of the train, cuz I thought they really
showed the explosions. The fireballs went wayyyy into the air and scattered
debris all over. The firemen were up all night making sure the debris
didn't start a fire in the grass. We had volunteer firemen from Plevna,
Baker, Ekalaka, Wibaux and Marmarth, ND. Quite a deal. Good people
that serve on the volunteer fire departments are priceless!!!!

Got .4 inch of rain yesterday. :D
