RANCHERS.NET DEADWOOD GATHERING

At Deadwood, South Dakota, the gathering was great
We feel bad for those who coudn't make

When we got to Deadwood Gulch, nr had our Tags.
Avatars and Alias's and real names we brag.

When we got to pairin' up the husbands with the wives
there seemed to be more than one surprise.

Big Muddy Rancher came in and gave us all a slam.
Cause the little woman with him was our very own TAM.

Yeah, that's right....

Once someone asked her if she knew BMR on some forum thread.
"Yes he lays south of me..." CAUSE she lays on the north side of the BED.

Then waltzes in SW, a good cowboy and handsome beau.
And his pretty wife we all know as....HANTA YO.

Uh Huh!!!

Then Soapweed introduced Mrs. Soap and gave some guys the shakes.
They said they were afraid she'd turn out to be SH.

They passed out the menus with their specialty dish.
But for ranchers they were pushing the chicken, shrimp and fish.

We all took a glance and laughed and said" Oh, Good Grief".
Just bring us all something that is LOTS of BEEF.

So we all sat down to Cow meat, Taters and lots of gab.
And gave a big hardy Thank You, when MACON took the tab.

Then the entertainment went to comencin' when Jinglebob grabbed his guitar.
Just to hear this puncher sing is worth the drive that far.

If you can get him to quit his visiting, He can make that guitar ring.
And you'll beat the brush to find another better at the cowboy songs he sings.

Yes, I gave a poem or two, a sample of what I do.
Cause' we had some others that wanted to do some stuff too.

SW gave a slide show with his poems that brought many cheers.
Big Muddy shared some of his poems he'd written thru the years.

Then Soapweed slid a chair up to the piano to play for us Gals and Fellas.
The way he works those eighty-eights would make Floyd Cramer jealous.

Bob M and Clarence then broke out their books.
Passed them around so everyone could get a look.

After that we wondered out to see the Deadwood lights.
Or drive around and take in other Blackhill sights.

So after a GREAT afternoon of makin' new friends and naming faces.
We think we should do this again at some other places.

So to nr who put gathering together, we gladly raise our cups.
And a big SAAL-LUTE to our man MACON for thinkin' this whole thing up.

Great poem.
It sure seems like you guys all had a great time.
Looking at all the posts and the Picture of Tam's behind with the plate was funny.

Saddletramp,
I think you let'er all out, you done spilt all the beans,
Even the slow at starts, might get what you all mean.
Already got a holler from Hanta Yo, "come see",
These guys are posting, secrets, "things just tween you and me."
I think that you guys are having fun, picking on poor Hay Maker,
This is more fun than should be had, coming from a verse faker.
The rhymes have been more fun, than should be had by all,
We need to include BMR and NR, they need to also take the fall.
Don't take this all to heart, just giving you a bad time,
Have to pick on you, I can't make anything rhyme.

You're right sw, I sure tangled my loop. But I sure had a good time and was just over anxiuos to share it. Didn't mean no harm.

Sure enjoyed your slide show and poems. Couldn't wait to get home and tell the wife about it
