Just got this in an e-mail from Wyoming Stockgrowers. Thought I'd share with you all.
GOVERNMENT LAND GRAB RED ALERT
VERY IMPORTANT THEY DO NOT REMOVE "NAVIGABLE WATER" REFERENCES . . . AMBIGUOUS WORDING COULD GIVE THE GOVERNMENT CONTROL OF ALL WATER! THIS MESSAGE IS FROM ND AND LISTS CONTACTS FOR THEIR SENATORS -- IF YOU LIVE IN OTHER STATES, CONTACT YOUR OWN LEGISLATORS.
The Wyoming Stock Growers have been watching this right along and if you want more info than that which is below give Jim Magagna a call at: 307-630-6800.
Date: 05/01/09 12:59:58
Subject: Vote No on the Clean Water Restoration Act
We have received word that the Clean Water Restoration Act (S. 787) will be
marked up as early as next Thursday, May 7, by the Senate Environment and
Public Works Committee.
The Clean Water Restoration Act would change the definition of "Waters of
the United States" to remove the word "navigable" from the federal Clean
Water Act, which would put all water under federal jurisdiction. This would
result in a huge land grab by the federal government and a taking of private
property rights and local authority. In addition, the bill would grant
sweeping authority to regulate all activities affecting those waters.
Please contact Senators Conrad and Dorgan and ask them to oppose S. 787.
Neither serve on the Environment and Public Works Committee, but ask for
their help in stopping the bill if it is successful in getting to the floor.
Sen. Conrad can be reached at 202-224-2043. Sen. Dorgan can be reached at
202-224-2551.
