Just got this in an e-mail from Wyoming Stockgrowers. Thought I'd share with you all.

Subject: Vote No on the Clean Water Restoration Act

We have received word that the Clean Water Restoration Act (S. 787) will be
marked up as early as next Thursday, May 7, by the Senate Environment and
Public Works Committee.


The Clean Water Restoration Act would change the definition of "Waters of
the United States" to remove the word "navigable" from the federal Clean
Water Act, which would put all water under federal jurisdiction. This would
result in a huge land grab by the federal government and a taking of private
property rights and local authority. In addition, the bill would grant
sweeping authority to regulate all activities affecting those waters.


Please contact Senators Conrad and Dorgan and ask them to oppose S. 787.
Neither serve on the Environment and Public Works Committee, but ask for
their help in stopping the bill if it is successful in getting to the floor.

Something like this has rumbled around the hills of N Ga since the drought last year.


ATL, has now learned that it's possible to suck that sump pool/sewage pond of Lake Lanier dry .


They have seem to just now learned that water runs down hill and are looking North, to us ,for more water access.


The major rivers for GA just about all ' head' here ,within about 30 mile area of me, so we are where all the waters flow from.

You can't ditch and drain your boggy pastures anymore as they are declared ' wet lands'.....and in this part of the world that water and mud can eat up most of your bottom lands in a short period of time.


It could turn out to be a BIG MESS for lots of folks everywhere
 
I hope you are all able to fight this, losing your property to the state is a sickening experience, worse still, the government (in any country) are the worst at managing ecosystems, as they are unable to plan and manage in a flexible way, and follow outdated and biased based research.

my dad works in the NRCS office, and he said the next farm bill will be totally environmentaly driven, with water quality and conservation as the key.

our irrigation district takes water out of the Republican river. this feeds to a lake near Junction City. both Junction and Fort Riley pull water from this. then it drains on down stream. Wichita is wanting to buy out the irrigation district here on the Nebraska border, to let us free flow the water down to Milford resevoir so they can pump for the city of Wichita....
in the end, population will win out.
 
How much is it going to take to wake people up to the complet destruction of personal rights?

TSCRA has just received word that the Senate will take up the Clean
Water Restoration Act (CWRA) tomorrow. This act would significantly
expand federal jurisdiction over private ranches. This bill amounts
to nothing less than a giant federal land grab and would be disastrous
to U.S. agriculture.

Under current law, the federal government has jurisdiction over
"navigable waters of the United States." By removing the
word "navigable" from the definition, the CWRA would expand
federal regulatory control to unprecedented levels-essentially putting
road ditches, drainage ditches, and stock tanks on my family's farm
under the regulatory strong-arm of the federal government. Not only is
this nonsensical, it is an infringement on our Constitutional rights as
Americans to own and manage property without undue interference from
the government.

Please call members of the Senate Environment and Public Works
Committee and tell them to say NO to more government control of private
property.
