Hey y'all...it's been a super long time since I last posted but I am on here often reading about everyone's adventures and enjoying all the photos. I'm taking a few minutes this night to ask you all to send out healing prayers for a very good friend and neighbor of ours. He is a young 31 year old cowboy born and raised here, a hell of a hand around cows, and an unbelievable talent with starting colts, cowboy through and through. The ranch he and his family had been running was leased to some truckers from a S.W. Montana trucking company...our friend stayed on to take care of his families' home. These truckers caused a lot of grief all summer, could care less about their cattle, and gave our friend a lot of problems. Anyways, long story short...these 3 guys showed up at our friends home last evening and literally beat him to a pulp. He was life flighted to Idaho Falls immediately, they drilled 3 holes in his head to deal with his brain swelling, bruised stomach, broken ribs, and his face is black. His temples are smashed flat from taking a beating. In induced coma. This happened on private property, 40 miles from the nearest town, 3 guys against one. Sound fair? They were nice enough to call for an ambulance. And none of them we're hauled to jail. They packed up and high tailed it away from here. Our friend has a 4 year old son. He is not without his own faults like we all are, but he didn't deserve this. We talked to his family on the phone and they aren't sure he will pull through. We are all just rattled and in disbelief that one human could treat another this way. It's one thing to get in a brawl in the local watering hole but this was just ridiculous. His 4 year old son was thankfully staying at his moms. Anyways, please send healing prayers out there and perhaps a few for the 3 truckers that they have enough sense to not come back to this county. They won't have a very nice welcoming party. And I am not naming names publicallybut if any of you live in s.w. Montana and want to know who not to get to haul livestock for them, pm me. Thanks in advance for prayers.

No words to describe the gut-wrenching feeling a person gets when reading your story, Wyoming Wind. Terrible stuff, how could anyone do it? I'm sitting here wondering what will become of this. This is 1st degree assault and the names of the scumbags are known by at least you and possibly several other people. Has to be probable cause since you mention they caused trouble all summer. There must be a trail of information to be shared. I can only hope that justice will be served but this young fellow cannot benefit from anything now but prayers and the grace of God.

Well said, High Plains. We will pray for the best for him and his family.

It is hard to imagine 3 guys beating up someone that bad. They must have been drunk or on something. Not that that is any reason or excuse, but how else could 3 guys be so chicken sh*t. This is a matter for the law! I can hardly wait to find out who they were as we lived in SW Montana for 18 years.

Head injuries are terrible things, and no two are alike, Please prepare yourself and his family for a long road ahead; and that your friend might never be the same. I know from personal experience that drilling holes in someone's head is usually a desperate measure. We will pray for the best for your friend and his family. They are going to need a lot of support.

I did send you a pm.

Prayers from the Big muddy

You just never know any more with all the drugs and alcohol and lack of personal responsibility anything can happen.

The law should be involved. :?

My thoughts and prayers to this young man and his family. My first thoughts though.... Why wold you not name them publicly, I think everyone should know who they are. If they they are "man" enough to do something like that then they should be MAN enough to deal with the consequences of their actions. I vist a few sale barns in Mt. On occasion and I would love to know their names so I don't happen to hire them.

Prayers sent from here. But my temper is up just reading what you wrote. Sure wish those sunsabadword could get the same treatment and i'd love to help give it. Hoping for the best.

Thanks for all your prayers...Mike (our friend) is hanging in there. Still in induced coma, dealing with brain swelling, some fluid on his lungs, and trying to stabilize his blood pressure. But he has been responding to loud noises in his coma. If he can make it to Monday, he may pull through, but no one knows the extent of brain injury until they wake him up. No arrests made yet. After lots of digging and putting together our own investigation and timeline we know for a fact that there were a 60 year old trucking company boss and his 2 fighting sons waiting at Mikes home for his return around 4:00. The ambulance was called shortly after 5:00. Mikes doctor said there no way humanly possible to inflict that much bodily harm on another human with just your fists. With your feet and a bat it is possible :( The old man I'm sure sicked his 2 sons on Mike and he never had a chance. Please continue sending your healing thoughts. I pray he wakes up and is able to see his 4 year old son again.
