My dad had been up here for the month of October and went home the first of the month (home is Mexico). When I talked to him on tues he wasn't feeling good, very low blood pressure and high pulse. He went to the doctor last night and they put him in the hospital  They think it is blood clots, probably due to flying.

So if you would pray for him I'd greatly appreciate it!

I guess it is pulmonary edema, which has to be a better thing than a blood clot in the lungs :???: Hopefully they'll get him treated and back home in a couple days.

Hi Nicky,
I'll keep your dad in my prayers and I trust in God for everything to be well with him.

Not great news as of this morning. Apparently his lung capacity is going down instead of coming up so they are having to give him more oxygen. He's fussing about the cost (would gladly spend money on someone else but not on himself), and wants to go home. If he'd settle down and let the doctors do their thing he'd probably get better faster. Of course he is 86 :? . I'm waiting to find out when to call the doctor. And wondering if I need to go down there.....

I appreciate the prayers, please keep them coming.

Nicky, hard as it is to get away, I would encourage you to go. And that's speaking from experience.
My dad passed away at 87. They put him in the hospital (congestive heart failure) and I went to stay with him. I was there a few days and he seemed to be doing better so I came home on Sunday. He passed away Monday evening. I was really glad I was there those last few days.

At that age, you just don't know how long they have. My dad was in and out of the hospital many times, and I thought this would be one of those kind of times again, but it wasn't. I really didn't want to go, but Mr. FH said the hardest thing to do is usually the right thing to do. I'm glad he gave me that
advice and glad I listened to him. I have no regrets, but if I hadn't gone, I certainly would have. FWIW

Good luck and best wishes to you! It's hard being a long ways away...

Talked to dad twice and the doctor once. Feel much better after talking to the doctor. Got dad to promise to settle down and stay in the hospital for at least two days...will go from there.

Thanks again
