We have my grandkids here while they are on spring break from school in Kansas. So I talked them into helping me pull some posts so I can rebuild a mile of new fence.

Kyle is 9, and LOVES to work.

Jessie is 6 and is a great supervisor, but she finally got into the working part some.

Lisa did a good job of making sure the kids were safe, and the work got done. Actually, she pulled a bunch of the posts by hand, while the kids and I were goofing off.

I was able to get them to help pull posts as long as tomorrow involves some horseback time.

Looks like a couple of grand kids, LazyWP. You are a smart fellow to put them to work, and they will have fonder memories of their vacation than if you'd let them sit around to watch TV.

all it takes is a couple good Kansas kids to get the work done in Nebraska......

Somehow I knew a comment like that was coming. I did my time in Kansas, just glad to be back in the Sandhills.

As long as you have help one of the easiest ways I have seen to pull posts and keep your chain tight is to use some steel rod to make a loop big enough to pull your chain through so there is a loop in the end that you can just drop it over the post. One of our neighbors had one that I had to copy. It works as quick as anything I have ever seen and it never slips. It is also lots easier to take off. Think of it like a honda for a chain.
