SH, Why is Koch allowed to advertise stricter safety standards and not Creekstone? It seems you have to be in some type of club to get USDA preferential treatment.
December 14, 2005 - Koch's Turkey Farm has been awarded Pennsylvania Preferred status by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. The Pennsylvania Preferred program supports Pennsylvania farmers by encouraging consumers to buy locally-grown and produced products. Products with the Preferred logo are grown and/or processed under stricter food safety standards ensuring consumers receive high quality products. Pennsylvania Preferred means at least 60% of the raw materials were grown and harvested in Pennsylvania or 100% of the final manufacture processing and packaging was done in Pennsylvania.
"With the Koch's name, customers know they are receiving the highest quality turkey products available," said Duane Koch, president of Koch's Turkey Farm. "As a Pennsylvania Preferred member, it reminds customers of our tradition as a local, family-owned business."
Koch's products are all natural, vegetarian fed, antibiotic and preservative free and sold nationally at Whole Foods and other natural foods stores. A full line of fresh turkeys, turkey breasts and turkey parts are available as well as nitrite free smoked products and marinated fillets.
