That is an envious bit of snow you have lying there, seeding the moisture necessary to grow more hay this year and consequently the need for more hay is foretold by the probability of more deep snow next year!

That's a real pretty picture! I don't know why, but I thought it was of wooly mammoths for a split second, right when I clicked on your thread here and that pic popped up????? :D I like I all your wood fence also that I see in your pictures.

I still have one more week of 2 year old hay before I start the new stuff - - - I gave a bunch to my son or I might not have opened the new stuff this year - - - I always try to keep a stash back.

The way last year was I will finish up out of hay this year for the first time in years!

I feel my 2 year old hay was really better than my new hay this year! The cows many not like the new stuff.

how many AUMs is a wolly mammoth?

:D ....A lot!.... :D This is a question I've pondered many a hour while throwing rocks in the pond and I keep coming up with - a lot.... :D The average wooly mammoth had 4 inches of body fat...

Back on the forest west of our place at the bottom of draws it looks like somebody took a loader and dug into the hill side and then made a pile just away from the hill. Had an FS archeologist tell me they are very very old hunting blinds, where animal were push up or down the draw to a small choke point.

That's real interesting, Jody! It's neat that kind of stuff can still be seen and found and we can vision how things were back then. Thanks for sharing that!
