I was wonderin if any of yall could help me find some listings for non WRCA ranch rodeo's here in tx.WRCA in my opinion has just a few too many stipulations and hang up's,im still a member, and i back them up 100%.Anyhow i know Mrs.Lilly is close enuff, and i believe TWOROPES aint too far off.So if you catch wind of anything let me know.We were going to enter in one right down the road last weekend, but I had to go tend to some other stuff...And we were going to do the steer saddling at the fair in brenham, but we turned the entries in too late.*sigh* so it looks like a bunch of hurry up and wait till somethin else rolls around...

Looks like from their schedule there's only three more events for this year in Texas. Here's their website, where events are posted.

hello ropesanddogs
a freind of mine at perasall tx. puts on good ranch rodeos all over that area
i think they have 2 at catulla in the summer the 4th of july is a real good rodeo it's a two go rodeo and is held over three days
he has one in dilly tx. in october "we won that one one year when i lived down there"
they have another one in the fall in bornie "sorry if i misspelled the name but i don't remember" any how it's close to san antonio
the compony is called buck horn cattle co.
and you can call Jim Gates at the jordaton state bank in pearasall tx. and he will put you on the mailing list and take enty's for whatever rodeo he has coming up
they are non santioned rodeo's but they are good ones
so pull your hat down and get ready for a wild ride if you go to them
until later jerry

Preciate it! All im after is a reason to run around and maybe pick up a buckle or some money on the way.Next year Ill prolly be in your area ( -G and such) ,but untill then a ranch rodeo in grahm wont do me any good. Thanks a ton! :-)

I have wondered about non-sanctioned ranch events, thanks for asking the question. We used to have the Rodeoin For Kids event in Elgin which was great but they have not done it lately. I did compete in the Ranch Horse competition this year at Watterson Ranch, but it was man against man not Teams. check out Wattersonranch.com, I will keep an eye out for you.

Can you tell me, did Bill Smith from Spur, Texas compete in that event?

He's a cool guy. Really! We met him at his ranch and Mr. FH got to ride his champion working ranch horse, "Weasel". I think down there they call him "Mr. Bill Smith."

We have the highest regard for him as a man and a horseman.

I dont remember that name, the competition was broken into novice and pro, with the pro being won by Curtis Kelly who is my runnin buddy and Livestock Deputy for the Travis County Sheriffs Office. I guess it helps if you get paid to rope loose livestock all day.

Lol,i have hunted hogs out at Watterson behind Krystal Rohan, who also has been in a few of those comps they put on,i was going to go,but as usual my schedule only seems to get full when i dont need it to....*its a small world after all*
