"wit a swatter" = with a swather

I used to laugh at some of those old boys that couldn't seem to make the "th" sound. Of course being from North Dakota might have had something to do with it. :lol: :lol:
 
LOL Well actully i am origanly from Florida, a fifth generation Floridian to be exact! lol I moved up here 8 years ago, and everyone made fun of the way i spoke, so i started talkin like them and byebye went my accent but when i go back down to Florida its as heavy as ever, Family say they can pick up the Canadian accent but I sound like i have a heavy accent down there! and for about 2 weeks after i get back up here I still have that accent but it dissapears later on :P

I met a kid from Baton Rougue who had immigrated from Korea when he was 7-8... Let me tell you, a Korean accent mixed with the, as he described it, Cajun, accent was something to behold... Oh my lord...

I knew exeactly what you meant about the swatter..

I never fond the accent in Florida to be much of anything.. Maybe back in the rural areas but not in Miami or any of the other tourist trap areas...
 
lol i sounded as southern as a Texan! I lived in Dade City which was a Smaller Town, in central west Florida, but know its so industrialized. But were were never at home we were always out in the country at an aunts place, or Grandma and Hrandada which had horse and cows and genie hens everywhere but then the mexicans moved in and let there dogs run around so it wasnt really safe to go out any more. But yea i had a very thick heavy accent :P :lol:


And didnt know what snow was! :oops: :oops:
