Richard: In a previous note I mentioned hand sanitizers and hand washing. We hear a considerable quantitiy of hype concerning flu vaccines, not only for AI but for humans too. The press chatters about the lack of flu vaccine, who should get it, etc. Why don't they hype hand washing. It is certainly effective. In fact the Associated Professionals for Infection Control (APIC www.apic.org ) and CDC have entire websites on handwashing and it's effectiveness. It's effective against a wide range of potential pathogens including flu and bestof all it's free, exceept for the cost of the sanitizer.
