Do any of you have any experience with AI sire HXC Conquest 4405P?

Good or bad?

Were going to AI some cow's and we want to keep the heifer's for replacement's, just wondering if his offspring are even tempered, frame size and if they turned into good cow's.

Any input is welcomed, reading semen catalog's makes my head spin.

Which one do you like better?

From what I have seen, I feel he is one of the better bulls the breeds has seen. We have not used him, but we have a son that we purchased and have used now for 3 seasons. We will use him the hardest of all sires this year. We are hoping to get 100+ calves out of him in our Feb/March group and around 50 in our May/June group. Conquest and our bull are moderate in frame. Some may say to moderate, but from what I have seen, they are in the mid 5 frame area, unless bred to a real small type cow. They grow early and as they mature, they quit getting taller. They both have real good calving ease. Ours is like most of the others I have seen, where they are born right and grow almost like a performance bull. They have good muscle, style, and depth. I have a friend in NE who is one of the owners of the old Conquest bull, he purchased him as a yearling with Accelerated. He has LOTS of daughters in his program and says they are tremendous cows. He likes them build like a pig (deep, moderate, and thick) and Conquests hits the mark for him. He says they milk right and are very easy fleshing. Also, from what I have seen, they seem to be sound and good footed. Our son sure is. Ours is ALWAYS is excellent body condition, while some of the other bulls thin up over the winter, he doesn't. The only problem so far I have seen, we never used the pedigree earlier!

Thanks for the info guy's.
The Red Angus is pretty new to me, I'm switching from black to red. The Red cow's I do have are small framed and that's the way I like them, so I don't want to breed for large frames.
BRG is your bull pretty good natured? I'm use to some real docile Herford bull's, the kind that you pat on the rear with your hand to load into the stock trailer :D

Back forty years ago or so, a couple of the old Hereford breeders from this area traveled to eastern Nebraska to attend a Hereford tour. It was a two day project, and one of the ranchers only took the pants and shirt that he was wearing, plus one extra shirt. He was admiring one of the docile Hereford bulls on display, and gave the bull a pat on his back. Just then the bull coughed, and a physics law took effect. "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." Green stuff squirted out the back end of the bull, and all over the dignified old gentleman rancher. He had his extra shirt, but had to borrow a pair of pants from his neighbor, who was a smaller man. The pants looked rather ridiculous on the proud old cowboy, but at least they were clean. :-)

I would say he is about average as he doesn't mind us being around him and so far his offspring have been good as well. BUT, not many Angus bulls, red or black, can compare to the disposition of a good Hereford
