Went into to watch my buddy's oldest boy play AAA Midget tonight and he never showed up. Seems he got called up to Red Deer in the WHL-missed seeing him play but sure glad to see a good young guy get the call. Keep your eye out for him-Cullen Morin-he's the real deal on and off the ice. He's as good a cowboy as he is a hockey player and he's a great hockey player.

Two MeadowLake boys get to play each other when Kelowna is in town-Kris Westbloom the goalie for Kelowna is Cullen's first cousin-going to be quite a calvacade heading over to the game from here. I have to coach or I'd be going to lol. Morin's run abunch of good angus cattle so they can talk cows and hockey with the Sutter's.

Don't get there often enough but really enjoy the Rebels games,like professional hockey and a small town feel. Yup Sutters the best.

Just checked my man Cullen scored on the powerplay from one of the Sutter boys-awesome!!!

Scored it on his first cousin too-that must of felt kind of weird. Only nine more days till world jr's start I can't wait.

I heard about Cullen on the radio. They gave his stats and specs - 5'10" 175lbs! He must be fast, tough, and hard to knock off his feet playing that caliber of hockey.

He's all of that and Smart-he's one of the best kids I've ever seen at making a good first pass. I called his little brother up from Bantam to play with us last week-same type of player. I've posted pics of both boys roping at my branding they're top notch horsemen too. Cullen got an assist last night against Lethbridge and his buddy dwight King scored so it was a big night for the Meadow Lake boys. Guess who I'm picking for my team when it's shinny time lol.

I guess Cullen got to go in the shootout against Lethbridge the other night-I phoned him to come skate with my guys tonight. When they had shootout at the end his little brother was 'Don't miss the net like in Lethbridge but he did lol. Dwight King was there too-makes the old coach drool when I think those guys could still both be playing Midget plus 5 other guys gone to AAA. Their both back to the Dub on the 26th so no big shinny games over the holidays-they used to be fun.

I'm sure there's gonna be some pond hockey played around our place over the festive season. It's always good for some laughs. My cousins and their kids in their skates, and me in my chore boots! :lol:

was talking to Cullen's Dad today-he got checked from behind the other night and bit his tongue bad. finished playing the game then took 18 stitches in his TONGUE-did I tell you we raise them tough up here lol.

Don't know about tough - if he needed 18 stitches to fix his tongue, I don't think he had a choice. If he did the stitching himself, that's another story. That'd be a story about an Alberta boy.

No, no, that would be a little tender for sure. Not sure if Eddie Shore, Gordie Howe or any of the Hansen Bros. could do that. :lol:
