I would not be buying tickets to Manhattan... there is a lot of hatred for the cornholers, and the personal safety of any idiot in red is not guaranteed...think you a holes are gonna see the same treatment in every away game this year.

part of me agrees with UT, "eat what you kill." True fact: OU 09 revenue from TV exceeded UT and UT barely exceeded KU.

My revenue beef: NCAA disproportionately funds nonrevenue sports from hoops. with all the football money, let football carry a fair part of the load. Andddd this would help nonBCS equity issues. Wichita State made the elite 8 a few years back but the NCAA holds down nonBCS schools by not distributing a fair proportion from the tourney (guess what, WSU and most schools really only have an opportunity to garner athletic revenue from the NCAA tourney.)
 
You can put a lot of the blame on our weak sisters (KU, KSU, ISU, MU, etc...)

THis just in Sandhusker, Kansas athletic revenue smokes Nebraska's, oh yeah, Kansas and K State argued most ferverantly against the revenue plan in the formation of the B12.

There were a lot more issues that that where it ended up Nebraska on one side and Texas and the rest on the other.

The big 8 days preceeded the big revenue dys so the FB money was made on bowl visits and home attendancewhere the schools didn't share money very much.

We didn't form the Big 12 - it started with the 4 SWC teams knocking on our doors with hat in hand.

And how were we the big bully of the Big 8?

take off the rose colored lasses. look at it from a different angle....you will see NU is just a bully pissed off that they can not copmpete with OU and Texas, and pissed that the doormats KSU, KU, ISU and Mizzou have all beat them in the past 6 years...so they puss out and leave.

We can't compete with OU and Texas? We beat OU and had Texas beat until the game was extended for them. We own KSU and KU again. ISU nips once every 20 years - we're back on top of Mizzou....

We left because we got a better deal and there was no reason to stay - simple as that. I don't see why you're pissed - you hate us and should be glad that we're gone. You've still got your conference and Texas's ash to kiss whenever they request it.

Welcome to the Big Ten, Sandy. Glad to have you. And yes, jigs is just blowing smoke. Nebraska will be treated as an equal member from the git go just as Penn State was 20 years ago and just as Michigan State was 60 years ago. Joe Paterno was instrumental in getting Penn State into the Big Ten. He didn't have the final say, but his opinion carried a lot of weight, as you might expect. He has said that joining the Big Ten was the smartest thing Penn State ever did athletically, academically, and financially. The same will hold true for Nebraska.

In football you will lose some long-time rivalries but you will gain new ones. Nebraska-Iowa sounds like a natural to me. Some people accept inevitable change and make something out of it. Ohers sit around and cry about it. I remember the last time Nebraska came here to Illinois and kicked our butts back in the mid 80's. LOTS of Nebraska fans came along and I talked to and tailgated with quite a few of them. Some of the finest people I've ever met. Even kept in touch with one family for a few years. Had a soft spot in my heart for NU ever since. Can't wait till we play you again.

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot. The idea that you no longer have a shot at the national title is about the stupidest thing I've ever heard. :lol: That will be determined on the field, not with a bunch of talk.
 
Funny how nobody seems to be having a fit that the school located in the People's Republic of Boulder went to the PAC-10.

I know it's hot, but some folks gotta quit drinking all that Haterade!
 
Cu has alwys wanted out. NU just got tired of not being able to win anymore.
