I'M A REG ANGUS Breeder, this summer we bought my son a longhorn cow we AI EVERY THING he did not want her breed angus and I did not want to buy a cane off semen for one cow so I called alot of by AI friends no one had any longhorn, so called the last guy I could think of he said he had 1 straw left and would like to get it out of the tank for $20 so I got it ,but when we pulled out the cane it's cane code was XX I said that's a clubby bull, he said never had cluddy semen, then said didn't know what it was but it did throw horns so I take it. Bred the cow this morning, as I was loading the gun I saw the name of the bull and almost dropped the gun and fell over the name was LITTLE YELLOW JACKET 61 Just wondering what it was worth.

If it is THE Little Yellow Jacket- I've seen semen sell for between $700 and $1000.....

And your son can be in a new business....

Consider the calf sold-I better send Ty over to take it off your hands-it will be off colour and won't sort into the bunch. I'd buy some lottery tickets while your luck holds-unbelievable who was the doofus who sold it to you lol.

YES I DID BREED HER as it was thawed out when I saw the name on it. I use a lot of higher end semen on my angus this year 10 straws of bando 598,3 straws 6807 , 2 of ext, I never get nervous I've been around AI my whole life, My dad started doing it in 1964. Got the gun in her could not get to the cervex, got nervous, hand started to cramp and a good thing dad was there he took over was having a tuff time, I got another glove on and then he got her. He said in 45 years of AIing never had a cow like that, But that was the first longhorn he ever hand his hand in

What if it's a heifer? ( I know I know...you'll have a nice heifer to breed and make more lil buckers ) But when I read this that was my first thought, so if it is a heifer, what would she be worth as a breeder?

It all depends on whose buying-alot of guys buck them too to see how athletic etc they are. we had a 4H heifer-black simmX- that was unrideable. our rankest bull is kind of funny-his daughters are either wolf killers or you can pet them.
