Romney Praises Trump

Help Support Ranchers.net:

So he's going to give a speech tonight on the "state of the election", so far past his expiration date. Maybe the Democrats can run him if Hillary is indicted, since Romneycare and Obamacare were cut from the same cloth.

This came up on yahoo. So which way is it?

Romney calling Trump 'phony,' urging Republicans to shun him

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney is charging into the increasingly divisive White House race with a verbal lashing of Donald Trump and a plea for fellow Republicans to shun the front-runner for the good of country and party.

Romney will brand the billionaire businessman as "a phony, a fraud" whose "promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University" in a speech Thursday morning at the University of Utah on Thursday morning. The Associated Press obtained excerpts of his remarks in advance.

Trump, in turn, dismissed Romney as "a stiff" who "didn't know what he was doing" as the party's candidate in 2012 and blew a chance to beat President Barack Obama. "People are energized by what I'm saying" in the campaign and turning out in remarkable numbers to vote, Trump told NBC's "Today."

In ratcheting up the rhetoric, Romney cast his lot with a growing chorus of anxious Republican leaders — people many Trump supporters view as establishment figures — in trying to slow the New York real estate mogul's momentum.

"Here's what I know: Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud," the former Massachusetts governor said, according to the early excerpts.

But it was unclear what impact his words would have with voters deeply frustrated by their party's leaders, and Romney was not using to speech to endorse a Trump rival. Trump questioned whether the party rank and file would listen to "a failed candidate" for whom "nobody came out to vote."

Thursday's condemnation and counter was coming four years after the two men stood side by side in Las Vegas, with Trump saying it was a "real honor and privilege" to endorse Romney's White House bid. Accepting, Romney said it was a "delight" to have Trump on his side and praised him for ability to "understand how our economy works and to create jobs for the American people."

Panicked GOP leaders say they still have options for preventing Trump from winning the GOP nomination — just not many good ones.

Romney also said that a Trump nomination at the party's convention in Cleveland in July would enable Democrat Hillary Clinton to win the presidency. He contended that Trump "has neither the temperament nor the judgment to be president."

Romney's involvement comes as party elites pore over complicated delegate math, outlining hazy scenarios for a contested convention and even flirting with the long-shot prospect of a third party option.

Giving Romney the back of his hand, Trump turned his sights on the general election. His campaign reached out to House Speaker Paul Ryan's office to arrange a conversation between the two men, and urged Republican leaders to view his candidacy as a chance to expand the party.

Trump padded his lead with victories in seven Super Tuesday contests, with Texas Sen. Ted Cruz claiming three states and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio picking up his first victory of the 2016 race.

Mitt is almost four years past his expiration date for being relevant. He lost his balls and failed to attack Oblamer on Benghazi, essentially guaranteeing four more years of Muslim hope & change.

I can't put any more weight on what Mitt says than I could McCain or Bob Dole....losers one & all.

AND I AM NOT A FAN OF DONALD TRUMP!

It would be nice to know what is actually true. Read recently that what he proposed and what the Democrat legislation turned it into was two completely different things, but he signed it with his name on it.

I just don't know about Trump. I like that he isn't PC. I don't like his past views or behavior. I like that he said he would want to defund planned parenthood until they stop performing abortions, but what does that mean? What does replace obamacare mean? Why not repeal?

If he secured the border and deregulated much of our choked out industry, that would be worth taking a chance. But deregulation is not what he's calling for, he's calling for rediculous tarrifs that he can't write into law unless he acted as unconstitutional as zero has.

Oklahoma, Alaska and Texas voted to save the Constitution, it's up to the rest to keep that going.

We are so close, yet so far away.
I got this from a friend who is a die-hard conservative:

"I too am concerned about the future of my children and grandchildren. However, it's pretty hard to save someone from themselves. My kids and grandkids are all of voting age and they range from pretty liberal to Bernie Sanders socialist liberals. Disheartening to say the least. They all fall into one or more of the following categories: 1) government employees, 2) attending or working for an educational institution, or 3) live too close to the left coast."

I Have Voted Republican almost every vote since 1976. I was Not A Trump supporter until the today. I am sick and tired of the continual lip service the republican party has given. After Romney's ridiculous speech today, I will vote for Trump in November or I will not Vote. I can no longer support Cruz, Rubio or any other establishment hack they come up with. The people's vote needs to be heard. Not the RNC'S desire. $58 b dollars in trade deficit to Mexico is ridiculous, $500 Billion to China is the obscene. We need a serious change in the way we think.

W.T., Please don't lump Cruz in with the establishment. They don't like him because he has stood AGAINST them. Cruz is our only clear hope. Trump might be, but past behavior is an indication of future behavior and I don't trust him based on that. If you will research it, you will find Cruz has stood up for America and AGAINST the establishment. That's why they don't like him. Look at what they have done, not what they say.

Please reconsider.

I hate what the Republican Party has become. I listen to Mark Levin, he bites the Republicans as well as the Democrats because Levin is a Constitutionist, and he supports Cruz. There is a reason.

Yesterday Hannity on Talk Radio bashed the Republicans too. When they call for money, I give them an earful. They deserve NOTHING.

The last debate I was reminded of a Saint Bernard dog standing between two little ankle biters. That was enough for me, at this point I will cast my vote for trump in November or Bernie and his free money trees. But I can no longer support a republican that refuses to hear its people speak. I am sick of watching our jobs go to Mexico, our fruit grown in China our beef imported from South America. Both parties have failed AMERICA. Time to let them know.

What I heard of Mitt's little speech kind of reminded me of what the Democrat's were saying about him last election.

Last debate Donny reminded me of a klinton. He was caught in more than one lie, and then came out calling Cruz a liar- that is projection and a Democrat go to strategy.

"But you never stood on this debate stage and said, 'It worked great in Canada and Scotland, we should do it here'?" Cruz pressed.

"No, I did not," Trump replied

The fact is, as Trump told CBS's Scott Pelley in a 60 Minutes interview, while claiming he would repeal Obamacare and replace it with – wait for it – government-paid universal health care:

Scott Pelley: Universal health care?

Donald Trump: I am going to take care of everybody. I don't care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody's going to be taken care of much better than they're taken care of now.

Scott Pelley: The uninsured person is going to be taken care of how?

Donald Trump: They're going to be taken care of. I would make a deal with existing hospitals to take care of people. And, you know what, if this is probably--

Scott Pelley: Make a deal? Who pays for it?

Donald Trump: --the government's gonna pay for it….

Everyone's gonna be covered, and the government's going to pay for it. That's universal health care. That's Obamacare. Trump supports the individual mandate, telling CNN's Anderson Cooper he would force people to buy insurance or pay a fine

Best way to vote against the progressives is to vote for a conservative- Ted is a conservative. There is no Republican party in reality. It is a polarized group that has a diffrrent brand of progressivism than the dems and then there are real conservatives. Trump hasn't mentioned the Constitution very much, I'm not certain he understands much about it.

+1. I have supported Cruz since this campaign started because his conservative credentials are well known. I will still vote for him in the SD primary if he stays that long. But I'm afraid the writing is on the wall for Cruz. I will vote for Trump if he is the nominee.

Today Mark Levin said that Trump, with all his contributions to Harry Reid, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, etc. in the past, is an "INSIDER".
The 'OUTSIDER' is Ted Cruz. So if you truly want an 'outsider' Cruz should be your man.

I can't figure out why Cruz doesn't get more media coverage, except they are against him. Levin said that Trump gets a lot
of free air time while Cruz has to pay for every bit of his.

Cruz gets passed over again and again by the media, including Fox News. Charles Krauthammer said tonight after the debate
that Cruz was the smartest. I thought Cruz held pretty steadfast and didn't attack Trump like Rubio did. Cruz pointed out some
things and when Trump interrupted Cruz told him he needed to learn to not interrupt. Rubio and Trump acted like grade school
kids. We don't need a grade school kid as president.

The debate was kind of a waste of time, but at the end they all vowed to support the GOP pick, so that's what needs to happen IMO. Romney considering holding back delegates for Trump if he gets the popular vote makes him look more so like the childish one. Can't stand to watch him anymore. At least Trump is bringing people into the GOP, where Romney lost millions probably. Cruz would be my first pick, but I don't think it's going to happen. Let's not be so short-sighted we give more footing to a felon or another communist.
