well this past week to ten days has got to have been the roughest one I have had in my life.

started with a pivot motor locking up, so we replaced a cummins with a john deere, and so far everything is working good on it, then another pivot broke through the stop and tried to cross the pond........one tower straddled the pond dam, and as the truss rods drug, it flipped the pivot over....but it is now up and running.

but the big kicker was we buried my grandpa today. was a real hard thing to do, but also a relieving thing, he suffered from altimerze (spelling?) disease, and the past 2 years have been very hard. I am almost thankful Jesus called him home. it was tough to see him that way.

I am wondering if God gave me the pivot troubles to occupy my mind....
I wrote a poem for him, and left it in his hospital room about 4 days before he passed....grandma said it was to be worked into the service, and it really hit home with a lot of my relatives, I may post it on the coffee shop.

Jigs---prayers for peace of mind for you and your family!! Alzheimers is still one of those diseases that robs the victim of their mind while robbing the families of a loved one!! Very sad!! I agree the the problems with your pivot may have been God's way of keeping your mind occupied!! I wish you the best!!

Sorry about the loss of your grandfather, Jigs. Our ancestors are the ones who paved our way, and they have influenced us a lot. We owe them a debt of gratitude, because without them we wouldn't even be here. It is very hard to lose them when their time is up.

Just got back from my favorite uncles funeral. I have a father that was the youngest of 13 children, and have been to a number of funerals with family. Well, death is something that isn't easy, but we've been through it. Mnay times deathis a welcome crossing past pain.

At these people submit stories. Many of my Aunts and Uncles grew up in the Depression and served in WWII, ect.....The Baptist minister that read these would keep interjecting, "Did this really happen?"

Take time to share stories. It is really important for the younger people to hear them and it is always good to remeniss. It is very honoring..

Sounds like you are going to honor a good man. Condolences on the loss, but congrats on being lucky enuff to know him,

It's hard loosin a loved one such as a parent or grandparent, they influence our lives so much. Honoring your grandad with a poem was a very thoughtful thing to do, and I do hope you share it with us when your ready.
