......are we blessed or what? Not sure, but I would imagine you guys are getting the same rain we are this morning. 20 inches of snow in the last 2 weeks, then 3 days of 20 degree weather, and now rain. Sure can change your outlook on things to look out the window at the crack of dawn and see puddles. I love puddles, there - I said it. When I get home from the auction this afternoon I may even challenge the kids to a mud fight! They were in bed by the time I got home last night - big sale in Provost today, had over 3,000 head come in yesterday. 2,700 feeder cattle and 400-500 cows and bulls.

Have a great day folks.

In the centralbattle river area we had about 3tenths last night. A nice start, as we had none of the snow last week you eastern guys got. It looks like more on the way, maybe I will not have to feed till july like last year after all!

We got our first cultivator pass over our corn experiment yesterday afternoon. Then it rained. Now it is coming down, but the colour is strangely white. This should starts the calves coming and get the grass growing. Timing is everything. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Started in here about 7AM- and been drizzling all morning...Probably only got a couple tenths-- but its sure freshening the grass up...

And the weather guessers are saying we could be entering a wet pattern for the next week or so... :)

12 noon and still raining. :D I'm inspecting in Provost but had to do fat cattle at a feedlot on the way here. There was 2" of snow between Hardisty and Hughenden. It was coming straight sideways at the feedlot - and stinging too. I got a little soggy by the time I was done - even with rain gear on. They had feed trucks stuck and there were all kinds of runny noses on cattle and caretakers.

This seems like a system that's really socking in for a couple days. I'm lovin' it.

I woke up in the night to rain on the window! We'll be turnin' out here in the next week or two. Sure is nice! Wind is driving it and its cold, but that big ol' shed is paying dividends. Some snow with it. I do hope it don't start raining them dogs around here

the 1/2 " we got a week or so ago is long gone. A nice 3 day shower would get the grass going here. It's got a few inches of growth but needs a good, soaking rain to get it jumping. Nice sunny weather though!

The Red Deer area got less than a mm last night and the wind dried all of it up early this morn. Dam I wish some of this weather would hit us for once, it`s getting desperate here.
Glad someone is getting moisture, might mean I can get hay this year cause it looks like we won`t get anything off our fields if things don`t change asap.

A good shot of moisture. Calving started in earnest today with 4 new arrivals. We had a couple previously from some lease cows we brought home again. These ones are a week and a half or so ahead of schedule. We had a successful teen pregnancy from a cow we are keeping for the neighbour, two more good ones out of an 06 and an 08 model and an old cow that lost her calf. She slipped through the culling cracks last fall and we paid this spring.
Nice and wet, the creek is running and the saddle horse didn't want to cross. Had a bit of a rodeo when I was dragging the dead calf away and she backed over the rope at the creek crossing.
It was a good way to shake the water off anyway...
