New pack of wolves moved in a few weeks ago. Been penning the sheep and found where they had killed one of our calves yesterday.

They were howling all around the house this morning, guard dog going nuts..... one just happened to be on the gut pile from the moose. 8)

Moonlight at 4 AM doesn't constitute spotlighting does it? Heard the 6.5x55 hit but won't know until daylight if it's laying there. Dogs will find it if it hasn't gone too far.

We have had coyotes in the yard nightly, for the last month. Loosing lots of deer to EHD, and with the river less then a 100 yards away, the 'yotes are having a hay day. They are bad enough, can't imagine what wolves would be like.

hmmm... a 6.5x55.....a moose....a wolf......are you swedeish by chance

coyote's around here are getting pretty brave too. heard them early this a.m. looked out and there was one right by the sheep pen, unfortunatly he still live's, didn't even get a shot, to many obstacles in the way (my truck, the neighbors house, etc.)

1/2 Norsky but no Svede. :D

Speaks Once got the moose.

I may be inclined to ask the neighbors to move their house! Sheep? How many? What kind?

wife's project. details at a later date. i didn't have enough predator's and varmint's to shoot at so she thought that maybe she would start attracting them for me

Its basically blue tongue. I can't remember what the E is, but the basically bleed to death internally. I think Nebraska is up to somewhere around 20,000 dead deer so far, but its all a guess.

Lost several thousand here in Missouri too.

What moose?

Lazy WP, what is EHD?

Epizootic hemorrhagic disease... It almost wiped out our Whitetail population around here last year... Hayfields where you used to see hundreds of deer grazing in the evening, may have one or two if any this year...

They are threatening to cut back on the deer tags this year. It ought to be the other way around. This is just mother natures way of keeping the population in check. I have only found 3 dead ones on the ranch, but I am sure there are atleast twice that many. I have heard of finding 10 or 12 in one spot. The rule here is you have to take a whitetail doe before you can shoot a buck.

We have seven in one small corn field dead.... Hubby had to pull one out of the way because of his seven point rack was in the way of his combine tires... He bout lost his cookies and was green for along time...

Sorry to hear about the new pack moving in and losing a calf! I hope ya get them!....or get them to move on!
