Nice story. thanks Jody. My husband got to ride with his dad and grandpa until he was 13 when his grandpa died in a car wreck (so many old cowboys of the era were atrocious drivers!) driving home from a July 4 Rodeo at Ft. Pierre. As it happened, my uncle was first on the scene of the single car accident.
Now, we have third, fourth, and fifth generations on this ranch working and riding together, with our two and a half year old 'gen. 6' cowgirl helping whenever she is allowed. She recently 'helped' her grandpa and great grandpa find a water line leak, driving the line in a pickup, freeing up her dad for more intense tasks better done without her ever so determined 'help'!
We feel very blessed to have them all working and playing together.
