Sandhills Cattle Association 2013 Ranch Tour

Good sized crowd in attendance at the SCA 2012 Ranch Tour. This year we visited five different ranches in the Stapleton, Nebraska area.

Nice herd of registered Red Angus cows

They are very gentle.

Lots of vehicles

My dad and his bride rode with me. Dad has attended all 23 tours that have been held. Maybe he feels obligated, since it was his idea in the first place.

Windmills are important water sources all across the Sandhills.

And tack area.

It was a beautiful 50 degree day. We saw a lot of very nice cattle, got to visit with old friends, and made some new friends. It was a fun day.

Seems like I'd get occupied visiting and forget to take pictures. :?

Just guessing, I'd say 1400# wouldn't miss them by far. They are cattle that live in an area with no hay. They survive mainly on grass and cake, and look good as they do it. These cattle are gentle as any can be, and are products of the Hall-Pokorny Red Angus fine program.

We were -41 wind chill, no exposed ears unless they were left laying on the ground.

Your dad probably felt obligated to baby sit, but I suspect he enjoyed the tour. A great idea and nice to see it carrying on.
