Katy, Were you down to Dog river? That is staight north of where I live. Just can't go straight. About 70 miles as the crow flies.

No, My parents were! They had to get a ram, and I got stuck home looking after the place! :x They went to Laura Sk, How far from Dog River is that?

Katy

Laura is a looooooooooooooong ways from Dog River! That's where I grew up. What did your parents go there for, if you don't mind me asking?

You guys cut quite a swath taking pictures of all that stuff.

Neat photos. Thanks for sharing them.

I like that gas station. Resembles one in a picture taken near here in the 1920's or so.

Tap , the town of Dog River is fictional. Actually it is the town of Rouleau that the comedy TV show "Corner gas" is shot at. The Gas station and the Ruby restaurant were built just for the show. Never been used for anything else. The rest of the town buildings where just made into showpieces. If i remember rightly the" FOO Mar t "was just like that when the show came to town. It did spark some life into Rouleau and it has been good to rural Saskatchewan.
I used to cuss having to stop on the hiway to wait for them to shoot a but after i saw the show the wait was more tolerable. :)

Well I sure would of thought it was a real town...had me fooled..lol Thanks, enjoyed em.

Oh Rouleau is a real town. Just the gas station and Ruby cafe were built for the Show. Rouleau was the first town in Sask to ship a million bushell of wheat in one years. Way back when. Some of the most fertile ground in Sask. the Regina plains and built right beside the SOO line railway.
