Your grass is sure coming Soapweed.

It looks like your drive was quiet and uneventful compared to the one we had today.
I'll tell our story on another thread so to not hijack yours.

Good help, good cattle, and the grass is growing. What more could you ask for? It's days like this that I know we have the best job in the world! Good to see Syb, tell her hi for us. RBT

I wasn't a bit stiff or sore riding along with you. :D

I see Peach changed Gunsmoke's head gear. :)

She got along much better having a bit in his mouth.

I will deliver the message.

Thankyou for sharing!!!

Perhaps a silly question; Do you have a lead cow or steer that you use when moving your herd(s)?

Even with my little bunch I have a lead cow that always seems to know what I'm wanting and leads the way most evry time.

None that I am aware of, but they do all kind of look alike.

Once in awhile, they have been known to hang up on the Bear Creek bridge. One solution to the problem is to rope a calf around the neck and pull it across the bridge (not very far). The calf bellers, the mother acts motherly and follows, and the whole herd comes racing right along behind.

My question is.... did you get any horses bought yesterday?

Proud to say I was a good little boy and just sat on my hands all afternoon. Oh, I did bid a couple times on one of Brady's horses and made him an extra two hundred dollars. :)

How far did ya have to trail em'? Cows look like they wintered fine and the grass is coming along great. Thanks!

Only about seven miles. They were full of green grass, so traveled good when we headed out. The wind was out of the south, and they were traveling south, so that worked in our favor.

Soap,

Nice move. Calm and controlled the way it should be IMO.

You obviously appreciate the value of pairing up and keeping them paired. In my experience that is the most important part of a successful move with pairs, especially when you go any kind of distance.

Everything looks good! :)

Do you sort the steer pairs to keep from having to sex sort the calves in the fall?

Thanks for taking us along, Soap.
Kosmo's roan looks like he is making a nice horse.
You can't beat wet saddle blankets--provided it's done
in the right manner. I like the attitude Kosmos horses seem
to have. Their ears are up, they always look relaxed; they like him!!
