Like the pictures as usual. Boy, the North end is really different than down around HQ! How close were you to that ol buck. He shows up good, even in a photo, but yet he didn't bother to get up--interesting.

Great pictures as usual, thanks :D

How did your red cows do at the sale?

Not too great, but it could have been worse. :? The youngest cows (8 head) were born in 2000, so they were seven years old as of this past spring. There were 14 from 1999, 36 from 1998, 35 from 1997, 19 from 1996, 10 from 1995, and 1 from 1994.

29 solid red cows, solid mouthed...1330# @ $880

12 red wf, solid mouthed..............1294# @ $830

33 solid red, short solid mouth......1323# @ $760

20 red wf. short solid mouth.........1314# @ $770

15 head, broken mouth................1351# @ $695

8 head, broken mouth..................1196# @ $695

6 head, broken mouth..................1284# @ $660

The buck was probably about a hundred yards away. He knew I was there, but he didn't think I knew he was there. I did. I hunkered down and had my rifle sighted in on him. He had four points on one side and three on the other. I finally stood up so the grass wouldn't be in the way to take his picture, and let him go.

Our modem went on us about two months ago,a bad electric storm,we took the computer to a nearby guy to put in new modem. When he did that he installed a "Cleaner" that we can start and it runs through the computer and cleans out all the stuff thats garbage,so to say. Thats really all I can tell you, because of my lack of computer knowledge I'm really of no help to you on downloading a good reputible one,I know ours is free.

So, in other words, Nicky's pictures would download for you just as fast as mine did, had you run the cleaner earlier? At least this is what I gather.

Yes I assume your right,at least thats what I'm thinking the problam with hers were, but to confuse things a bit more we were in the middle of quite a storm, hard wind and snow when I was downloading hers.It pretty well had calmed before I downloaded yours. Our phone line was acting up when I was talking to my sis from BC,so not too sure..... :???:  Properly confused now???I am :D

Someone's gonna be real happy with his red cows. He got them bought right or so it seems to me. Now you have a straight black herd, and they are nice!

We have more than enough home-raised Angus first-calf heifers to take the place of the red cows. The trouble is, it will take a couple years before the young cows will have as good of calves as those old red cows have had. At least our hay supply will go farther now.
