SAV SALE

OT They looked really good. There was a definate top to them, but as a group they were very thick, powerful animals. Good set of bulls. They were one of my favorites. There were plenty that looked to be very funtional as they weren't explosively growthy like some of the others. It was too cold to take pictures or I would have had some for you.

Like I have said before I was very pleasantly surprised by the frame on a lot of the cattle there. A lot of the weight was carried in length of spine and depth. Can't sell air and there wasn't much under a lot of the bulls.

plus, on the AAA sale report page, it always takes them about a month to list the names of those who bought the top sellers at SAV. i figure it's because it takes them that long to decide whos names they are going to use.

You might be right Justin- because its a week now-- and the AAA has several sales (even sales from 2 days ago) completely listed as to buyers--but nothing yet on SAV...
Definitely has some of the conspiracy folks talking

it's like that every year with SAV. i try check those results daily and i'd say 98% of the results are posted within 48 hours of the sale, with most of them being the day after. who knows why it takes a month for SAV's, but it does make ya wonder.....

Makes ya wonder where Herbster's get their money.

On their website it say's they own the conklin company and sounds like they run a 100 cows.

Almost a Million $ for 6 head of cattle...The Conklin peddlers must have had a very good year...

I read that too Denny. You wouldn't think it would take $410,000 in bulls to breed 100 cows, but heck they bought a cow for $350,000. Wonder how much money actually changed hands?

Thats the first question that popped into my head- does Conklins make a creep feed ?
