Saw one of these critters at the ranch this past week.

The tail appeared longer than the animal's body.
 
Is it still on the ranch? What kind of regs are there down there on huntung and such?

They live on the place. It's only the second one I've seen in the years I've been here though I see the tracks from time to time.

As for hunting regs, when you get down to it, there are none.

They're called an Onza here.

I was thinking back to the different sightings of this critter and now recall another where one of the dogs (pit bull mix) got after one in the middle of one of my bermuda pastures. As bad as that dog was, she let the Onza walk. :lol:

These guys are hell on chickens and like to hang near farm houses though they're rarely seen.

Check out the tail in the photograph, it's as long as the body.
