Frank was one to the district characters in his day.
Frank always claimed he could jump higher, dive deeper and come out wetter than any other SOB that lived on the creek!

No matter how hard they worked or how much got accomplished from sunup to sundown, one old rancher always said as they walked to the house to supper, "Well, we didn't get much done today, but we'll give 'er hell tomorrow."

Me: "Grandpa, I hear something clanging in the ______ (truck, tractor, combine)."
Grandpa: "Ah, it's not a problem as long as you hear it. We'll get concerned when it stops."

Crossing the highway- "Anyone coming bigger than we are?" ''

"Even an old blind sow can find a acorn every now and then."

"She was built like a burlap bag full of bobcats"

"He knows just enough to be dangerous."

"One man's trash is another man's treasure"

"Absolute power corrupts absolutely"

My wife keeps me in check with this one- "Worse things have happened to a better person."

My Dad used to say this one quite frequently - "Live and let live."

Of course, Paul McCartney gave that one a modern little twist . . .

Are you just making these up as we go along?

At the risk of starting a breed fight, that quote was made by Mike Ferguson (who was cowboss at Douglas Lake for 40+ years) when asked why Douglas Lake didn't use Polled Hereford bulls at a Canadian Hereford Assn meeting where he was one of the speakers.

You have a point there but if you comb your hair right you can cover it up.
