Looks like SD will end up with another world Saddle Bronc Champ-- Chad Ferley in his first year to the NFR looks like he's got it....I doubt if DeMoss will even get on one tonite-- bad neck and now 3 chipped vertebrae in his lower back, that required him to be carried out of the areana last 2 nights...

I had never even heard of Ferly until my son came home from a couple of rodeos in May- said there is a kid named Ferley just cleaning them up in the bronc riding- can ride anything...He first saw him at the bronc rideoff in Miles City...

They just posted the stock draw- and Cody DeMoss and Glen O'Neil have drawn out because of injury-- so with DeMoss out Chad Ferley should be the new Champ....

Looking at the draw, it won't be a day off for the bronc boys still riding either-- as Kesler has a couple of the Cat horses out and Cool Alley is out tonite too......

I guess Chad has been at it for quite awhile, but he's been crippled up the last few years. Seems like them guys have to really pay their dues for a long time.

Too bad for DeMoss and Mortenson. Probaly the end for Dan. He's gettin' kind of old.

S Dak had 6 Bronc riders at the finals, that includes Billy Etbauer. Also had the top bronc this year too. Slippery from Korkow`s.

Two others have clinched World Championships-- Cody Ohl in Calf roping and B.J. Schumacher in the bull riding....

Will probably miss most of it tonite as tonite is the Rural Fire Departments Christmas party- and as a retiree I am invited- and the old retired Chief cooks up about 4-5 of the best, biggest old Prime Ribs I've ever ate....

But they will have the rebroadcast on tomorrow at 10:30 AM M.S.T...

Yesssss! SD took the top 4 spots in bronc riding tonight again. Chad got the world title and JJ won the average. Not bad for 2 rookie NFR riders for SD. :D

Yep- I missed part of the broncs tonite (had to socialize with Grandma  )-- will try to catch them tomorrow...

Funny how you know you're in rural USA-- when tonite at the Rural fire Christmas party--shortly after 7PM all the guys ended up in the back room-- in front of the Finals on TV, leaving their wives up front...

Worst part-- and the main reason I need to watch it tomorrow is I missed Bryce Miller on Cool Alley-- I kind of figured it would have to be a feast or famine ride...That is one tough old horse.....

I agree that it was a great round last night in the broncs. It was nice to see our local guys do so well for once. Jesse and Bryce really looked good. Not to mention those other two southerners. JJ and Chad.  :D

Ferley sort of reminds me of how easy Clint Johnson made riding a tough bronc look. He just sets there and makes it seem like he is riding out to get the mail. Course there could be a big check waiting in the mailbox.

You bet Tap. Ferley appears to have the same easy going approach.
Didn`t know this until today, Korkows lost Slippery before the finals. This was after he was named bronc of the year. Don`t know exactly what happened.
