The family and I went down to Lincoln over the weekend to watch the Jacks and Huskers. We were very proud of the Jackrabbits even though they lost. Met a lot of nice people and had a great time. My nephew goes to school at Neb and as we were walking to our gate to get into the stadium my son asked what the odds were that we would see Matt at the game. I told him the odds were about 1 in 90,000 and about 20 seconds later we ran right into him. Crazy!

Glad you had a great time. Win or lose i have never had a bad game experience in Lincoln. I would agree how crazy it is to see people you know with the 90000 plus, but it seems to happen every time I go.

A few years ago the Cajuns got their butts handed to them by the Huskers but the Cajun fans arrived in Louisiana saying that Nebraska fans were some of the nicest people they'd ever met. That's a good thing.

About a hundred years ago I went to a Final Four in the Big Apple. The Cajuns were playing Michigan in the first round and I met a number of Michigan fans. It was not a good thing.

You can be from out of state and drive to a game in Lincoln, park your car, and not worry about your tires getting slashed, your car being vandalized, or your butt being jumped from behind. Husker fans don't behave like the thugs in Manhattan (KS or NY) or in the People's Republik of Boulder.

bad apples in every town, we have had **** happen to us in Lincoln...self proclaimed greatest fans are ass holes too

My son spent 4 years in Omaha in the Air Force. He said it was a rare day that someone didn't make a snotty remark about him being from Colorado. Funny thing is we could care less about Neb and their football team.

Maybe it's not about football... We used to spend out vacations at Lake McConaughy and colorado wasn't to popular there either...

When you're the only school that's had to stop the game to clear out the a-holes in the student section who couldn't act in a civil manner, you should expect snotty remarks. As I tell my kids, you get what you give.

Interestingly, I struck up a conversation with a guy wearing an Oklahoma shirt in a Las Vegas casino once. He said that he used to be an OU cheerleader and that they hated going to Colorado as everybody there redefined poor sports. He said they didn't have problems at any other school except CU.

Well it all worked out in the end. He was in Omaha the fall of 2001 and had to stay there for an extra 4 months because of 9-11. It gave him a chance to lay down some bets with his coworkers on the CU vs Neb game that year. Ended up paying for a large piece of his freshman year of college(at CSU) on that game. So from our family to yours thanks for the memories.
