Yes, I have heard that those huge bonfires of BSE corpses in the UK have seeped into the ground water. After the story I heard of the man with a biopsy who NINE years later developed a slowly progressing CJD that killed him, I sure as h**l don't want this cr*p in my water or soil. Think how little infectivity was on those biopsy instruments. The fact that it was slow shows that but it still killed him with more or less the same symptoms as my husband.

Have I read that surgical instruments cannot be sterilized even in an autoclave? I think they use disposable ones for necropsy on prion diseases.

Off topic. What do you know about "Plum Island"?
