Took Sara out hunting today after school-the wind was perfect for the stand Ty built for her. We got settled in and a young doe came out-I asked her if she wanted to take her but she said she's pretty nervous I bet there's a buck coming. Sure enough he was but he hung up in the willows-just long enough for my little girl to get shaky-I gave her a hug and she took a couple deep breaths-then when he trotted out she smacked him. Pefect lung shot with her .243. Talk about excitement-this definately was my greatest hunting moment ever.

That'll be the day this Dad hangs up his rifle-I've got three weeks to try and fill a tag for myself lol. It was pretty cool out there tonight though.

Yeah were lucky guys to be able to hunt with our kids-I actually end up hunting with everybody's kids it seems. Ty has a buddy been begging for two weeks to come out but he had to wait till Sara filled her buck tag lol. Ladies first.

Good job Sara!!!! BTW, had elk last night from MCGs cow, the girls are growing up, they are not daddy's little girls no more, daddy is now their personal animal gutters and meat processors :wink:

Well we better count those blessings sw-were lucky men I'm thinkin'. Wish they'd let us guest Americans I bet MCG would like chasing a hog whitetail around for a week or so.

That is really neat. I've never seen such a little 4 point with long brow tines like that before. Is that a really young deer that would have been a trophy later or is that an older deer with a small rack? Anyway's that is a hell of a big bodied deer, I bet she had a hell of a time loading it in the pickup . Nice job.

He's just a long yearling deer-there are lots up here like that-Ty shot a 6x6 a couple years ago with small droptines started that I'm sure was only a two year old-older bucks up here tend to get lots of mass-some junk and really rounded points. Right after she shot this guy a nice 4x4 almost ran Ty over when he took off after Sara's deer.
