These are some I took when we shipped the TS cattle out the other day............
Dale and Little Dan lead the way
I moo-ved to the other side of the road, cause they were gonna take them down the lane I was parked in........here they are, almost even with me
Coming right along (Keith and Rocky headed away, Al and Moonshine headed toward camera)
Some more of them (Keith on Rocky in rearview mirror, nephew Troy on Blue Boy, Al on Moonshine)
The tail end of the herd (Dale's cousin on Alex, FIL on Scooter)
Coming into the shipping pens
Some more in the pens
The Bull Wagon they went off in
Horses relaxing after a hard day's work (Moonshine & Little Dan)
Up the alley to the waiting trailer (Driver on fence, BIL behind cattle)
A nice cow that ended up at the corrals without her calf, she got a ride back to the pasture they were in
Cows being loaded (that's Dale on the gate)
Rocky takes "5"
The requisite Wrangler Butt shot......this time on a 5 year old! hehehe
The cows kicked up a little dust as they went up the alley (Dale, BIL, cousin's son)
Next bunch, more dust (Keith, Dale)
So much dust you can hardly see any cows (Hunky, cousin, BIL)
Next to the last bunch on the second load (Dale, cousin, BIL)
A nice Char X cow that had a good heifer calf this year
Had a couple of mishaps that day, before they ever got to where I was.
First, FIL got dumped in a sandy wash, kinda bruised his ribs, where he landed on his arm.
Then, Al got tossed off the colt, Moonshine. He didn't make out so well, and I've taken him to the doc twice since it happened. Doc finally decided yesterday, after Xrays showing no broken bones in his leg, that he's got a second-degree sprain, which is partial tearing of the ligaments. It's the inside of his left ankle (not the one Rocky kicked and broke in 2004), so he's got this huge brace that goes all the way up to his knee, with only his toe ends sticking out.........with a walking bottom, velcro straps galore........etc. At least he's off both crutches, and just has to use one, since he can now put some weight on that side. Doc said anywhere from 1-2 months till he can get back to "normal" activity.
Guess Kit got dumped the same day, out guiding hunters, but he's a tough ole codger, and none the worse for wear.......
Reckon that bad stuff does come in threes...........
