Thought I'd share some pics from the dry side (which coincidentally was the name of the area I was raised in, in Colorado)

Corgi dog needs some privacy (lazy ace made me post these two! Sorry  )

Buffalo jump--lots of buffalo skulls have been found below. Do you know where it starts and stops? The tall grass is where it drops off-straight down.

Looking down the buffalo jump.

Looking northwest of the buffalo jump. The cows are enjoying a nice spring day.

Looking southeast of the buffalo jump.

Two cows with Firesteel Creek in the far background.

I enjoyed your pictures, TTB. You live in a good grass country and a quiet appearing neighborhood. It was sure a nice day to be out and about, and there was even an "extra" hour of daylight to do it in.

You've some great open spaces there...Don't ya just hate it when critters go through a fence like it wasn't there...maybe they're reinacting the buffalo runs..lol Thanks alot great pictures.

Looks like a hint of green in that first picture of the Corgi dog. Soon the grass will be belly deep to "your Rockstar herder". Like the water, is it spring fed? Great pictures. Thanks!

Don't know about anyone else, but those 2 corgi photos cracked me up this morning.

Yep-- I was reading along- and we have dog coming- dog going- and the first thing that popped in my mind was, next thing she will have dog ******** -- And next picture she did...

And blamed it on poor old innocent Lazy Ace :P

Good pictures TTB!!!! Loved the dog pictures. I'm with Oldtimer on the opinion who was to blame for the dog pics!!!! I sure hope you guys get some rain soon being the snow missed you. I just love your area, hope to be up there again sometime.

Sure wish we could give ya some of this moisture we've got here...the missouri is the dividing line in moisture -- and mosiquitos and humidity...hopefully the spring will bring some much needed rain to your country.

TTB, you didn't tell us you married an old geezer. I always pictured lazy ace to be a young and vibrant looking guy. lol

I enjoyed the photos too, and it is easy to see you guys have quality livestock. Even if they crawl fences from time to time. :-) Is that a selling point in the purebred business???????????????

You guys are dry...its starting to melt here and I got a giggle at noon hour watching the kids going through knee deep water on thier way Back to school today :D

Poor puppy,is nothing sacred.

Nice to see lazy ace isn't really Lazy...lol

Looks as though your new camera is working well Nice pictures.
A couple of questions---
Are some of the mounds from coal mines? Also do the hair balls on the fence mean your pour-on failed ?

It is amazing that cattle will pay any mind to a cute little Corgi !

The buffalo jump areas are pretty- find any arrowheads down below?

Lordy, it must even be dry inside the dog! Good pictures, we're all gonna get some rain here before you know it.

Had to show the wife and kids those pictures, LOL.

My son thought a good name for a dog like that would be "Slinky".

TTB, check your email, I sent you a couple questions about the dog.

Thanks for the comments/complements.

First, BRG---I hope you got your keyboard cleaned up after spitting your breakfast all over. Glad you had a good laugh.

EP: The water is spring fed. It's a nice asset to the place. I hope the grass is back-high or higher to Holly the Wonder Corgi! What a beautiful sight that would be!

OT and feeder....you both are wrong, lazy ace isn't innocent. Ever. Never, ever!

Yep, Tap, I married, a geezer, and come to think of it, he's old, older than I am!!! And a colorful one too. It's a good think cows are mostly colorblind, or with his outfit, they likely would be color blind! And, yes, in a dry year like these past couple, having fence crawler probably would be a good selling point. There are two advantages...you don't have to feed your own stock, your neighbor does. And, neighbors could share in the cost of new, valuable genetics that come via a new herd bull. Sounds quite neighborly to me  All those heifers could see and smell was the two blades of green grass coming in that south pasture

Mike, if Genex sends a cap, I'm betting it'll get worn. Probably in front of the ABS guys  Remember lazy ace is never INNOCENT!

Juan, the coal mine is probably 10 miles to the south of us. I can't remember the formation we're on. I think we're really on an ancient lake or ocean bed, and that is what makes the hills/mounds. It's fairly gumbo-ey and we're also blessed with a prehistoric concrete (gumbo soil with little oyster shells) running through the place. The stuff is not only hard but sticky. Wonderful combination! And, yes, we're having some resistance issues with the pour on. The cattle hadn't been rubbing much until this nice streak of weather last week.

Yep, we're dry. The Good Lord and Ma Nature will bless us with moisture when they feel that others don't need it more! As a livestock marketer I know well says, "It will rain.....someday." In that statement, he's 100% correct!

Cheers---

TTB
