Significant Rain Event

The weather boys were predicting a "significant rain event" for today- and this time it looks like they will be right...Started raining here early this morning- have 1/2 inch now down on the river place- .8 at the north place- and it looks like quite a bit more could come....Its slowly moving east- so maybe FH and Big Muddy can get some...Heard reports from northern Phillips county of 2 and 3 inches... :D
 
We have gotten about an 1" of rain since last night here in southern Phillips county, looks like more light showeres all day. Wow what a change from 6 weeks ago. Looks like it will go down as a wet fall in northern Montana. Sure glad the temps weren't cold enough for snow! We'll take the rain!!
 
Definitely frustrating when you are so close to finishing. I hope you get the weather you need before winter comes knocking. We had a skiff of snow this morning, and it's darn chilly out there yet.

That always makes it worse- when you're so close to being done :wink:

Our significant rain event appears to be over- sun shining now...Ended up with .7 down here on the river and 1.1 at the north place...What a little rain won't do- the inch or so we got 2 weeks ago was all we had had since early June...Now the way things have greened up around here its hard to even tell we were so dry....Even Grandmas brown old lawn is a pretty green again :)
 
We were planning on gthering and weaning. had to put it off until tomorrow. Ended up with 6 tenths. yes it is looking greener. the Crested wheat grass is growing more now then this spring.

ditto, here, shelly!!! Only needed one more day of "dry" to finish the almost 200 acres of wheat the hubby was working on!! :cry: Never been one to complain about moisture....especially in such a dry year! Just hoping that those folks in the wake of those awful fires are doing okay...they have been warning ranchers in the "derby fire" area to watch for flash floods....seems some folks just can't catch a break! :cry:
 
2.1" here over the past 24 hours.................puddles everywhere again, and the corral is a bog.........

Had one fella come into the station just before I got off this evening, who said that there's snow on Escudilla this evening. They're predicting snow down to 6000' (we're 7300' here at the house), so chances are pretty good that we'll have a white Tuesday........

Hubby's boss already called and told him not to come to work again tomorrow............ :?
