Yeah and I've always guessed it's that way so as not to fry all the bunnies passin' back and forth!!!

I've got those same signs all over my property lines!

What name is @ the bottom? Can't read it for the sun glare.

I'm bettin' it's Turner.

Bet he's a liberal too! :-)

CattleArmy,

Is this the former U cross-Fawn lake ranch he bought few years ago?

Damn shame that was a he$$ of a cattle ranch. i don't buy the "well thats just more land out of production and dollars for my feeder calves" theory. The demand will be met other ways i doubt the north american cow/calfman will see money trickle down.

Turners buffalo are competion for beef. Does anybody know if he has/gets any gov. subsides or contracts? I heard somebody say something about a big buffalo conference coming up in rapid city s.d. Ted himself is supposed to speak. Its funny how he has to have frontmen buy/bid on the ranches he buys. I know its his money and while I believe in capitalism how many good hardworking people got stomped/sh$$ on by his media mongol shoes?

In fairness to ted at least its red meat he's pushing

I remember a few years ago a friend showed me an article in I think it was Sports Afield (when that magazine was filled with yuppie junk) about how one of teds sons and his buddies were taking time off in the summer from college back east and working as "cowboys" guiding dudes on trail rides on one of teds properties. they so looked the part with their Cabelas cordera saddles and little outback hats. LOL
Talk about the blind leading the blind

Ya it bothers me being a youngster trying to get started competing with big city money, turner/hunters,and other absentee land owners. Being a six generation cowboy/rancher dosn't seem to matter alot of time.

Thats a buttload of bales is it custom hayed and sold local or is it shipped out for top dollar? I hope it stays local in these drought times. I've often wondered what would happen in a deep snow winter when those cute fences drift over. would the bufflo roam?

I say more power to the mormons buying huge places in NE and elsewhere. Maybe they employ more local people and help keep the local economy and traditions alive. At least keep them cattle ranches-supposedly.

None of my irritation directed at you CattleArmy had a long week i guess

Thanks for the pix

Whoa wait a minute I'm not done, the gate picture bothers me too.

Either the stretch braces were built before the gates were bought or the fencer can't measure- step off gate spans :?

Both sides of the Battle River is owned by cattlemen...friendly cattlemen at that.No-one cares if someone pleasure rides,or sets a canoe down as long as gates are shut and animals aren't disturbed.

Two years ago,a quarter section of the riverland was sold to "City" boy uses it only for, well I'm not sure what he uses it for, theres a HUGE cement pillar and metal gate that is locked so tight God can't get through it,on the gate is the same friendly sign you have posted CRM.Its kida too bad hes like that though because on that land is an old bridge and alot of the young people have always set thier canoes in the water there. :(

we used to could go anywhere like that, now its getting to be all 5 or 10 acre places with a posted sign every 3rd post  if they could theyed keep you off the hardroad that goes by their place.but they all get along with each other, you can hear them in town inviting their new neighbors over to the"RANCH".

They probably have to put those signs up for legal protection cause a lot of people just don't know that you can't mess around with buffalo. And these days if someone stubs a toe on your place...they are apt to sue!

We were camped on a ranch in SD once and the border fence was with a buffalo ranch. The section we were in had Angus bulls. The Angus bulls and one of the buffalo got in a fence running, name calling, shite slinging match across the fence.

One woman ( from NYC) was with us and before we knew she was really missing we saw her sneaking WAY WAY too close to all the bluff and bluster to take a picture. She said she had no idea that she might be in the way.....!!! DUH!!! *** This was the same woman that got hit in the arse taking a pee with what must've been a HUGE grasshopper and swore something bit her!! Back @ camp we just sat and stared at her for awhile....she didn't get sick or die, so conventional wisdom was a grasshopper attack***
