I had ranchers.net icon on my desktop so I could go directly to the
site. Somehow it got removed and I don't know how to get it back
on my desktop. I know someone (or everyone) can help me.

Also, computer troubles. I get this message on my computer
when I log in:

Problem caused by device driver
You received this message because a device driver installed
on your computer caused the Windows operating system to stop
unexpectedly. This type of error is referred to as a "stop error."
A stop error requires you to restart your computer. (A note
from me here-sometimes my computer just quits; quits as
in goes completey blank and I have to restart it.)

It says to continue to send problem reports so analysts at
Microsoft can study and try to correct the problem as
quickly as possible.

HOWEVER...
I also get this message:
CORRUPTED ERROR REPORT
Unfortunately the error report you sent is corrupted and
cannot be analyzed. Corrupted error reports are rare.
They can be caused by hardware or software problems,
and they usually indicate a serious problem with your computer.

SO NOW WHAT DO I DO?
And thanks in advance...

minimize your ranch window, the two boxes between the - and X Then drag the and address to your desktop. Run a virus scan, sounds like a virus.

www.kaspersky.com

It's a pretty good on-line one. See if it works for ya :) Arent computers um er ...fun...

for the shortcut......with the ranchers page open, go to "File" then click "send" then choose "Shortcut to desktop"

I'd run the adware and spyware programs and see if it comes up with any of those, then run your antivirus program. All should be listed in your program list, under the start menu.

Personally I think you should stay with what you have, the AVG,run that. Don't you have yours set to scan? If not go into your AVG,theres a place to scan your computer and it will vault your virus if you have one. If you add a differnt one thats not already on your computer they may fight and you'll be worse off then you are now.

Thanks everyone.

JL, I ran the adaware and got rid of some problems (or created
some...time will tell).
AND now I have TWO (read that 2) ranchers.net icons on my desktop.

Mrs. Greg, I think AVG runs a scan every morning.
And I can't find where it is on my computer anyway.
Where would I find it?

Anyway, I hope it helps this computer. :?

I'm sorry for your dilema BUT I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one that isn't as computer savy as many on here. My boys are tired of helping me out so I guess I should get a handsome computer tech to help me!!!! LOL

If its running every morn its got to be somewhere,go to start, then look in your all programs,it should be in there if not on your front page,AVG will have a place to scan computer,it will take awhile,up to hour for me,but if any virus's it will vault or heal them.Hope this helps :)

I had that AVG stuff fasterhorses, what a mess, deleted it,been runnin about a year with no virus protection, seemed like everyone I tried made my computer slower.............good luck

I thought I bought AVG, but I can't find it anywhere.
When I sign on, I get e-trust antivirus.
Should I get something else, or is that good enough?
I'm not sure about e-trust antivirus.AVG is free, prob what happened was you were supposed to upgrade to AVG 7.5 and you missed it. I've talked to lots of people that say AVG is the best protection there is,we've NEVER had a problam with it and it catches viruses right away.I sure don't think I'd leave your computer wide open though. You can download AVG but prob should get rid of that other one first.

Oh and ya a antivirus might make your computer a little slower but that because its checking whats coming in.
