Sale is today. The preview is on now. Looks like a lot of calving ease
bulls to pick from. Interesting that they score for calving ease.

I did see something interesting. Some direct sons of 6807 out of
PBC 707 daughters. Now, if we needed bulls, I'd sure be interested
in these. They are lots 239 and 240. Might be more, but I caught these
two before they moved on to different sire groups. I think 240 was out
of a QAS Traveler 23-4 daughter.

I have not seen these cattle, except Tap uses them and when I
drive by his place I see some darn good looking bulls.

Wonder how Tap made out in this storm. It's pretty wide-open country
there. Maybe I'll give him a call.

Glad you reminded me ... I'd forgot it was today...
I was looking thru their catalog and was curious what several of the lots would bring....

Lots 83-87 are sons of Emulation 31
Lots 88-95 are sons of Prime Time D806
Lots 110-120 are sons of Rito Legacy 3R9
Lots 121-122 are sons of Rito 707- both out of EXT daughters...

Wow, they still have direct sons of Emulation 31?

Tap is fine, lost a couple calves in the corral, only the heifers are calving now. He is worried about another storm coming through right away though.

Well you know Lots 121-122 will be going on order to the wilds of Northern Saskabush, with EXT that close in the pedigree. They just love them up there.

I think old NR's too tight   ...Someone spent some jingle on them- like I figured would happen...

121 brought $10,250 and Lot 122 brought $9,000....

So far in the sale (of the ones I watched sell-missed some)- the Rito Legacy 3R9's and the Rito 707's have been the top selling lots... From what I could see on the videos- they were also the ones with the old angus look and some real muscle...Top Legacy son was Lot 111 $11,250 and Lot 113 sold for $10,250...

It sounded like one person bought most of the Prime Time D806 sons...If I had a herd of heifers I wanted to breed and calve out- thats what I would do...He has been the easiest calving bull I ever used....

They are good cattle. The other permittee uses those bulls, and I'm always happy to see them show up on the forest . Hopefully she'll get some good ones bought today.

missed lot 196 too, who got him?

I wasn't paying that close attention (bouncing grandkid on lap  ) but I thought it was 194 that brought $62,000-- because they got mixed up and ran him in behind 195 and 196.. :???:

Anyway 194 was the speculated top seller amongst the breeders/buyers...They retained 1/3 interest....

Have only heard numbers- no names- but I'm sure it will be posted in the next day or two...

It probably was, I wasn't paying that close attention. One of them sold for that much.

Yep-- from what I'm picking up it was 194-- the bull they call Sinclair Grass Master # 16027094---who's MGS is EXT and who's Maternal Granddam-N Bar Primrose 2429- is a maternal sister to the dam of EXT- N Bar Primrose 2424....

I was more interested in seeing what the Legacy 3R9's and Prime Time D806's looked like- and brought-- since I have a young 3R9 son that is EXT/Viking breeding on the bottom that really looks good - and getting the first batch of calves from him and with many of the heifers bred to D806....

Partially because of all this genetic scare/fiasco I've sure seen a lot of interest in the bull calves (worth keeping) from them and the little Wye bull....

Old Northern Rancher could have gotten a lot of EXT son's cheap-- and the 5522's didn't sell as well as I thought they might....
Too many bulls- many of which probably should have never been kept as bulls- and not enough buyers- but their were some good deals there for someone that needed range bulls...Quite a few $1500 bulls and several No Sales...

I really like- and have for years- some of the old N-Bar breeding- along with some of the Wye, Shoshone, old Dale Davis, Diamond D and Ohlde breeding... But I know some folks that won't even look at, let alone touch the N Bar/Sinclair breeding since they became owned by a big corporate entity....

Well I missed it all. I spent the day at a Dairy farm learning /watching how to flush embryo's it was quite interesting.

I've got 25 straws of Shoshone Viking GD60 that I will be flushing a couple cow's too here shortly. We will be putting them in our commercial cow's 20 day's prior to our normal start date. We will then breed them to a hereford bull for clean-up.

Sinclair Extra worked pretty well here 2 years ago we could'nt get any semen on him last spring so we chose to use Sinclair extravagant on some of Our heifers and a few cow's last year. Our AI'ed cows aren't due until April 8th.

I thought Tap had bought his bull's at Redland Angus.

I didn't watch the whole thing but sure liked the looks of the Sinclair Extravagant progeny. Real muscular long bodied well balanced bulls. The Sincair Extra 4X13 bulls showed up real well also.

Denny I would like to hear how the 4X13 daughters are truning out. According to McCumbers add they think he is the most consistant bull they have used and his daughters are really fertile.

We have'nt got but one heifer but she's about the best heifer in the pen. A friend of mine used him also and his are about identical to mine. I will be useing him again this spring. I've heard there's some demand for him again and he's not a large volume semen producer so I best get it ordered.

I will get some picture's of her today if I remember you'll like the kind I'm sure..
