thats the craziest thing i seen all day. every year we seem to have something similar to that happen in a hay field after the hay has been cut for a couple days, but never shaped quite as nice as those snow bales.

Never seen that here, when I saw the subject snow rollers I thought I was going to see the horse drawn things they used to use to pack roads.

Cool pics. I've only seen this happen twice and neither time where the rolls as big as that, mayby 5 or 6 inches tall at the most. Must have been pretty windy there.

A friend of ours up in Alaska sent us the same pics a few days ago via email.

Under the right conditions we've gotten them a couple times....not shaped like round bales but shaped like balls and they can get pretty big depending on how hard the wind is and how deep the snow is.

I had them one year in the orchard. I would have blamed it on kids if there would have been tracks  It was before many folks had computers so it took some time to figure it out.

The round bale style are very cool. We have had the snow ball type ones a few times. Kinda eerie to look out and see natures snowball making. The first ones I saw were before the Internet as well but that night on TV they had a report on some so information technology saved the day.
