Never had dial-up. We get ours from a dish, sometimes it can get slower but nothing like the d-u folks complain about.

Broke down and got satellite about ago. Can't get dsl or anything else here. Satellite is waaaay better than dialup.

We've got dial-up, it's a pain in the butt. Some days it works just fine, most days slower than molasses in January. I usually don't even bother looking at the videos people post on here, and lots of times, I can't even look at all the pictures, especially if they're larger.

We still have dail up. Seriously thinkin about tryin again to get high speed. Previously no one offered it in our area. but neighbors have it now.
It's awful for Lil Lilly to try to turn in her college papers. They are all required to be turned in online. It took 3 1/2 hours for the home page of the turnitin.com website to get fully downloaded the other day. That's just rediculous.

high speed/satellite around here would cost me an additional $50 a month...something I can hardly afford...so, am grateful for ANY internet service i can get...even dial up!!! :roll:

Dial up. 
High speed would have to come from satellite, and it's just too much money at the moment. I have the same problem with video and pictures. Don't even bother with video, and pictures are a pain.

What is internet without dialup? Mine goes from my keyboard to a really old, stoved-up arthrtic carrier pigeon. Then gets passed to a shetland pony with colic & founder- mounted pony express rider who takes it to a near-sighted, dislexic telegraph operator that sends it upstream via steamboat to the nearest actual telephone line. I started typing this post 2 and a half days ago!

High speed with direct dish to line of site tower. Couldn't go back to dial up. We have a dial up account as a back up as we have a kid that goes to school online. It serves to remind us how much we appreciate high speed when the dish goes down.

The first of October we went from Dial up to Blue Sky. With the Dial up we were paying $30 for the phone line and $20 for unlimited internet. It cost us $300 for the Equipment and Install then $50 per month for use. We were able to get rid of the extra phone line with this.
Our local telephone company (Plateau) had entered into an agreement with Blue Sky under the Rual commications act to be the local "Dealer". The entire account is ran under the phone company. They installed and are the ones you call for any maintance that may need to be done.
From what I can understand is that this may be an option for the smaller phone companies that are usually found in the rual areas.
With Dial up we were only able to get up to 24kbs. with Blue sky it is 100.0Mps. Mom dosent like it, she can no longer take a nap between Emails. :lol:

You think you've got it tough? If the rain would let up, I'd try to open the door on this ark and holler for food or something. . . .
