The snow is not gone and we are having one of our 12 frost-free nights for the year. How will the peas ever survive?

I got some they come in a can from the store.Keep inside open at will. NO WEEDS. We've been snowless here for 6 weeks at least and mud less for a month driest calveing season ever.Were down to 20 left so it's easy sailing now.Oats are all planted, not that I had alot but I beat the beavers and that feels pretty good.Suppose the wifes garden should get dug up this week.

i got my garden planted, 500 acres of oats and wheat. :wink: now waiting for a rain.....like always :?

You've got lots of time! Around these parts you don't plant gardens til the Victoria's b-day.
Looks like you may break the 200 days of feeding barrier this year? :shock:
Hang in there man, and remember it's a small price to pay for ranching in Shangri-La.

Unless trend changes we may not feed for 170 days this year. The cow herd started Dec 1 and we just may have grass by May 15th.

Well there's nothing wrong with that. We're hoping to be turned out by the 15th or so as well. We'll see how it goes. We started feeding around the middle of Nov. last fall because we just don't have the banked grass near home for them to work on. This year if we work the queens pasture right and we thumb our noses at her rules we might get another couple of weeks
