Help Support Ranchers.net:

That is interesting, jodywy.

DDT kills a lot of people each year, but it's because it isn't used enough. Mosquitoes were "dying like flies," and problems like malaria were being greatly subdued when DDT was in wide use. The greenie-weenies howled long enough and hard enough that the product is no longer available. Mosquitoes have come back with a vengeance, and they spread disease with the same vengeance.

Rachel Carson perpetrated a fraud against DDT:

DDT never bothered anybody. Ag pilots used to spray it al day long with no effect. Housewives put it on windowsills to kill flies. We had a fogger for the lawn mower that worked great.
Unfortunately,it was very hard on the birds. Thin shells and the eggs broke before hatching. I used the last I could find long after the ban but wouldn't support it ever coming back in North America.
I'm sure they still use it where they have malaria.
