Soap, that was grand! :D You play a heck of a lot better than most even missing part of a finger. I liked your comment about playing around the campfire. I played trumpet in Jr. high school and was 1st chair as i entered my freshman year of high school. But i quit playing for the same reason. :? Always wished i'd played guitar.

Little H is a budding piano player and wants to know if you read music or play by ear?
first I want to say great job Soap
then 2 H how hard is irt to be first chair when there only 40 kids in the whole high school?

Ya caught me Jody!    Actually, i went to a high school in Tooele which had 500 kids. A big shock when ya come from a class of 6 in elementary school.

I want to know how big the trumpet was that you couldn't carry it on a horse?
Nothing like the soothing BLAST of a trumpet to set a nice relaxed aura to a campfire gathering.

his fingers were calloused....from leather and rope
as the weather and elements....were hard to cope
as he worked his horse....thru the herd of cattle
his hands told a story....of both victory and battle

it was peaceful and calm....in the ol' ranch house
as the cowboy played the piano....for a dis-creet mouse
there was no campfire....a dog or a horse
just a beautiful sound....as he played a chorus

A cowboy and his piano....is rare but true
some wear a hat...but only a few
tho his head was like ivory....calloused were his fingers
as he played his piano......an old legend continues!!!
