Your neighbor ran her way back into the semi-finals at the Calgary Wild Card performance today. Pretty fancy roan she's riding.

Even though I don't know Trula personally, we are all very proud of her barrel racing accomplishments and her fine representataion of our Sandhills area.

Here are a couple links that Jassy posted on Facebook lately.

I hear my old neighbor won the saddle broncs up there. Cort Scheer?

Yep, Wade Sundell put up several good rides with two injured vertebra (sp). The last horse Wade drew wasn't enough to beat Scheer or I believe he would have won his second $100,000.

Trula Churchill made a wide turn on one barrel and it was enough to take her out of the pack for the final 4.

A BC boy named Ty Pozzobon made the final go in bull riding but drew the poorest bull out of the 4. He won the Showdown earlier today with a 90+ ride.

I used to work with Cort's dad, way back when I just got out of school. I talked to Cort at a branding this spring, and was teasing him about making it into the big time. His response was pretty humble for Cort. He said he had to rodeo, cause he didn't like to work. While I enjoy Cort, his older brother Clete, is probably the most impressive young man I have ever had the pleasure of being around.

I've got to say that winning bronc ride was awesome 93.5 pts. and well earned. I am disappointed that our local boy Rylan Geiger didn't quite make it though to the showdown. Next year for sure.
