I had some questions about my solar systems. Since I don't know much other then how to hook them I I will post a link to where I bought the systems back in 2000.

The one pictured on the swamp thread in a one panel 45 watts, 19 volts one battery with RU series pump. I use it to pump water for around 30 plus pairs or similar numbers on hfrs. The other 2 systems use 2- 45 watt panels and 2 12 volt batteries but I am told 4- 6 volts would work better but not sure if I could get them hook up right. Those pumps are the M30 series and they have around 300 pairs that can access them both at the same time but often hang at one or the other for a day or two.
Lift make a big difference even from when a dugout is full to where it is pumping off the bottom. I use 10 round fiber glass tanks and it might pay to have bigger tanks or more storage some how.
It is amazing how little the cattle go in the dugout when the tanks and pumps are working.
If a person has a well I think a good Grundfos submersible pump would be the way to go.
