The Toronto Blue Jays called up catcher J.P. Arencibia to replace catcher John Buck whose thumb was injured back a foul tip off of A-Roid's bat.

Well this J.P. kid in his major league debut not only hit a 2 run home run on his first M.L. PITCH, he doubled in his next at bat, singled in his 3rd at bat and HOMERED again, to the opposite field at that, in his 4th at bat!!!!!

This kid is putting on a clinic! And to think that I could have gone to the game and didn't . . . .

If he'd a been thinkin' better he should'a made that last home run a tad but shorter. Then he'd hit for the cycle with a triple! Sounds like he ought to retire after the game!

Well he did take a good shot at a triple in his last at bat when he hit it fairly deep into right field where Ben Zobrist caught it just foul.

Even so, it appears that with his 2 homers, 1 double and a single, J.P. Arencibia has set a major league record for most total bases in a major league debut!! His momma looked a bit excited in the stands!

I'll bet he's pinching himself right now to make sure he's not just dreaming.

Well I was debating about going but no one else was interested so I stayed home and baled straw  Yup, it would have been a game to remember for sure. It appears that he set a few records which isn't something you see very often. I at least watched his first at bat on the tube before I headed to the field.
