With all the cold and snow around, I thought I would refresh everyones memory of what it was like last spring and I am quite sure we will get back to spring eventually. OK, I was sorting through my pictures and I thought maybe a couple people would like to see a few.

Cows on grass, just after walking them about 5 miles to their summer pasture.

Heifer calf. Debating whether to show her or not. Suggestions?

Nice pictures. Thanks for the reminder that summer is coming. A couple of the pictures look downright patriotic--the one with the red and white Herefords and the blue water, and the one with the red and white steer and the blue attire of your daughter.

Good to see the green. What is it? 3 months until you have green? We will be closer to 4 up here. :???: Good looking critters you have.

I resized the pictures. Glad to see you like the green. I know it made me feel better going through my pictures the last few days.

I would say it will be about 3 months before enough grass grows to graze. It is usually mid may or later before much grazing is done in this country. Last year June came before much grass grew, but then it grew really fast. Maybe we can get an early spring. Hopefully.

I like the looks of the cows in the first pic, green lush grass and their looking around. Full, can't take another bite. :D

Nice pictures, red and white cows on lush green grass can't get any better than that. It is hard to believe it can rain that much in South Dakota, but when it does it really looks perdeeeee, :D :D :D

It is amazing what a little rain can do. We had a fairly wet June, several nice rains in the last week of July and things stayed green into September. Very unusual and I am very thankfull for it.

The steer did well. Purple and topped his class of 3. We only showed him at the county level so we didn't put a lot of time into him. My daughters had a lot of fun with him. Her friends sure liked to use him as a couch at the fair. His maternal brother is pretty nice for this year. I probably need to reward her for her effort this year and show him a couple more times. Her sister will be in her first year in 4-h. I am considering taking the heifer above with them but the way they feed these heifers these days, I really don't want much to do with it.
